| It's in the props where we lacked punch at times not so much in the backs or even backrowers.

| Got the result, that's the main thing. We contained Salford quite well, especially in the first half, other than a penalty and a 'loose carry' they couldn't get in our half.
That said, we lacked any imagination without Myler, we were looking good value for the lead until he went off, then relied on Clark/Dwyer to create.
Bridge was dangerous carrying the ball, but Salford weren't troubled by the thought of a right side attack all night. Laithwaite and Penny didn't get a touch.
Right result, lots to think about for next week. Wouldn't be surprised to see O'Brien in the squad

| Standard workmanlike performance, we're a team that's lost a wealth of experience and are now quite young, we're building a team for the future while still being competitive. We will get experience added next year in Gidley, personally I'd try and get Tim Smith from Wakey, good kicking game and can create moments of magic and creativity.

| Happy with the result the performance was not great though, plus points in currie and ormsby having great games. Clark was far more like it, ratchford is just our best player he has to be in the halves when Russell comes back. Declan Patton was ok , this run of games will do him the world of good in the long term but I do feel it's just a little bit too soon for him right now. We need to beat saints next week and we will be right back in the hunt for top 4, that's a massive ask if we play like we did last night though.

| In terms of the result, it was a triumph of courage over intimidation and adversity. Some of the Salford tackling and tactics were straight out of the Wigan handbook, and in Corey Paterson they have provided Gareth Hock with a car share option for trips to the RFL disclipinary.
As for the quality of the performance, even allowing the for disruption it was meagre stuff at times, and the same questions remain unanswered. The ball carrier looked isolated, lack of inside/outside decoy runners and no-one taking the line on. The defence continues to look brittle, and the sense of trepidation when we're defending in our 20 is tangible.
Nonetheless, the nature of some of our defeats recently has led us to speculate whether the players still want it, and the performance resolved that at least, and in young Dwyer we got the performance we hoped for, and a whole lot more besides.

| I rate Paterson. He would go well in our team.

Surprisingly they have just shown it, twice in fact, the second time in slow motion. Even commented that it was a try worthy of winning any game!

| Chris Hill has become the central figure in our side now imo, amazing that he came back on after that tackle.
A quiet game from Benny W but put in a few good shots as always. I went to the game and it was Chris Bridge who seemed to do all the talking and organising once he moved into the halves, he looked dangerous with every carry. Top performances
from Currie Ratchford, Ormsby and Dwyer was superb off the bench (Mickey who?). Scrappy performance overall but its about where we are at the moment. If we put it all together consistently (as Leeds away) we can challenge for both comps, but without a proper half moving us around and taking us forward it's hard to see us testing Leeds, Saints and Wigan when it really matters. Have to agree with RD Ratchford should partner Bridge but full back then becomes a problem.

| For most of the season I've been concerned about team spirit. We don't seem to be that tight knit unit that Matt King used to go on about. We've heard all sorts of rubbish that players don't like the fitness coach. They dont like Agar. .so and so don't get on. ...etc etc
Tony Smith keeps saying we only want players who are 100 percent committed to the club. ...Well what I saw from Chris Hill last night was astonishing. Anyone that played the game will appreciate the genuine pain he was in. .He didn't do a theatrical dive and scream and hold a random part off his body. He sat there shaking his head and struggling for breath ....It shook him up and I thought it was an ankle break for sure. ...For him to want to not go off was immense and for him to come back on was amazing. ..
We have some very committed players if they dont like the coaches they aren't showing it...
I'm still vexed with the halfback situation but I'm a bit more confident in the team spirit. ..

| Was amazed Hilly even managed to walk off, was sure it was a very serious injury. What a bloke. Better than Morley?

| Quote: Winslade's Offload "Yes, I agree about the HB situation, Patton, Myler and GOB are partial solutions and do not appear to be the long term answer. Plus I am surprised we are totally ineffective when attacking the opposition line. Do they actually practice attacking plays during training ? because I don't see anything.
What about the forward penetration ? ( sorry nurse). We only seem to have Hilly and the occasional sortie from Westwood. Even Asotasi is starting to look impressive. We desperately need some new, ugly, dirty, massive ogres in the front row.'"
Far too early to tell on Patton, he's a kid and has played about half a dozen games at this level.
