Good spot ( did not notice myself )
Just thought shock horror - we have re-signed Rhys Williams !
That said anyone else thick Ormsby has the running style of a baby giraffe ?

| In terms of the London game, in my view Rhys Evans and Kevin Penny should be given a run-out, obviously Russell as well if he is fit.
I acknowledge that a settled, winning team is important but if we don't give people an oportunity to show what they can do, and London is clearly the ideal time to do it, then we may as well send them out on season-long loan and let someone else give them game time, and reap the benefit of their abilities.
After yesterday I remain baffled that anyone can defend Atkins & Myler anymore. Continuity of team selection is not a reason for burying of our heads in the sand; these are not new, inexperienced players they are seasoned professionals who should be at the peak of their powers. They have had a chance, failed, and should step aside to regain form whilst someone else gets a chance to shine.

| Shouldn't we have feelers out for a half for this season?
GOB is the future but is he ready for this higher level now?
Myler?...does his future lie at Warrington? Is it worth writing off the £200k?
Perhaps Ratchford and GOB can make it work at 6 & 7 or would it leave us at sixes and sevens?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Riley and think he's a good player. I certainly am not one of these fans who whine about him every week. My point was simply that already, after 2 games, we're seeing comments like "Ormsby isn't good enough", which I find a little ridiculous considering he's brand new to the first team, he should be given a few more games before we're writing him off.

Writing players off is what we Warrington fans do best.
Bet Riley has a stormer against London if selected.

And then when he does has a stormer against the likes of Leeds, Wigan, Saints, you get "well, why can't he perform like this every week?"
The guy just can't seem to win.

| Turgid. Now that is the word to describe yesterdays performance. It was flat and clueless. Blaming Riley for our defensive frailties down our left was always the easy option, but now we know what the problem really is. Ormsby was often left adrift by his centre. And if he does run like a baby giraffe, at least it wasn't like the headless chickens in attack. Poor O'Brien was left looking for someone to pass to, but nobody seemed to know where they were supposed to be. Myler looks detached from the whole game and perhaps the good doctor is even now writing the cheque.
Why are we lining up in defence and not moving swiftly to close the opposition down? Why are we trundling into the tackle when we have the ball? We made Saints, Leeds and Hull look twice as quick as we were in all phases.
I got tired of mentioning that in defence we had several players who were shouting and waving for reinforcements, all in different directions! It use to be Briers organising, but no more. I did think at one stage that we would have been better with Briers playing in a neck brace, and being pushed about by the water carrier.
I know the weather turned ugly and handling was difficult, but Hull made some excellent breaks, and thank the Lord that some of their finishing was as bad as ours. They could easily have won otherwise.
If we continue in this vein, maybe a return for Cullen is on the cards. That is what yesterday reminded me of.
May the Lord protect my season ticket!!!!
And the less said about Childs - for both teams - the better.

| Given we all seem agreed we seem a bit lacking in zip in attack, the absence of Dwyer is a bit baffling.
I know he's another relatively unblooded (to a certain extent) youngster, but he's got a good passing game on him and plenty of zip from acting half-back......... both things which M.Monaghan is lacking at the minute, and which the team badly need.

| In the last couple of seasons there's been a bit of discussion from time to time on here as to whether Myler could be used at hooker. If Russell is now fit, and given that we have two hookers who are both coming towards the end of their careers, I'd be interested in seeing what Myler could do there with GOB and Ratch in the halves.

Nope. But I think he will.
Proven try-scorer.

I would sooner find out more about what Dwyer can do there, he must be next in line barring a 'Daryl Clarke' signing or in house experiment?
