| If he does well over here, he will probably 'discover' that his mother was born in Leigh and that he is eligible to play for GB.

| As he is Non Fed trained he will count as one of our 5 'Overseas' quota players.

I thought this current ruling (Fed and non-fed trained) replaced the previous, which mean't Kolpak could no longer
be used to artificially increase any clubs compliment of non EU players. Whether Asotasi has a Samoan passport or not, doesn't matter.

Riley has just moved into the Ben Harrison's old room in a shared house with Ryan Shaw so hopefully he's here for a while yet.

Yes exactly. A good move by the RFL I thought as it gets round the employment law side of things well.
There are some exemptions to the ruling such as any player registered in the UK pre 2008 will count as Fed trained (so off quota) such as Francis Meli, Ali Lauititi etc, and any player involved with the Crusaders when they went belly up are considered Fed trained (so off quota). But as these players near retirement we should start to see the number of 'overseas' players at each club reduce down towards the 5 mark as a maximum. I seem to remember some clubs having 10 players in their squad that were overseas at one stage but didn't count as quota because of the Kolpak ruling.

It wasn't that long ago he was being talked about as one of, if not the best prop in the world and captain of the All Blacks.
Lets be honest, its not like we have signed Ben Cross here.'"
Sorry to be pedantic but the All Blacks are rugby union. He was the captain of the Kiwis.
(*hides for a while for being annoying*)

| Played in 14 out 15 games for table topping Souths this season, but apparently he's past it, injury prone and will be taking up a huge wedge of the cap. Gutted we didn't get Eddy Pettybourne instead.

| Asotasi looks like a marquee signing compared to what the Wigooners have just signed.

| Asotasi has lasted less than 12 minutes for Souths against the Warriors today before being substituted and during that time looked out of it

I don't think he even touched the ball? Appears to have struggled this year however I am sure he will turn the corner.

He always plays a short opening stint and returns again before HT. Stats of 10 carries for 94m and 20 tackles with none missed over 35 minutes. No errors or penalties conceded and no line breaks or offloads.
I would have said a good and solid, if unspectacular, performance from big Roy and the stats supports that. A similar type of player to Gaz, but I'd say he'll take Mozza's role of the experienced pack leader next year. He's only missed 1 game so far this year too so hopefully with any luck his serious injuries are well and truly behind him.
