You are kidding? That's not even the worst facial injury I've seen on a Saints player in the last 10 years. Did you not see Paul Wellens in the 2001 Grand Final, or Sean Long after a clocking of the late Terry Newton.
On that note, you ask modern day players, they will say Newton is the toughest they have come across.
Another that u admire the steel of is Petero Civoniceva. Runs all day, gets everything thrown at him, yet still wins the ruck and gets up smiling. Never seen him lose his rag or blow up at the referee, top class prop and a fantastic attitude

Without bagging Graham, as he is a fantastic player, he would be a lot better if he just got on with his job! Maybe he will iron that out of his game as he gets older, as Morley got rid of his frailties.
I must admit, it always gripes me a bit seeing players mouthing off at officials, Brent Webb being the classic example in Fridays game. Everytime the guy touched it, he got up slowly, moaned at Bentham, then played it. St Helens must have been rubbing their hands when he got it, 2 minutes rest in defence. No wonder Leeds are getting a hiding of late, discipline is woeful

If that's the case then Stuart Fielden and Sam Burgess fall into this catergory.

| Some players that ain't seen as hard like Shaun Edwards, Martin offiah and them types. Every time they get caught with the ball they had players wanting to rough them up and being dirty in the tackle but they just get up and play the ball with no fuss.

| Dean Bell is right up there for me.
Suprised nobody has mentioned Alan Rathbone. I don't remember seeing him play but I'm sure there have been other threads where his 'toughness' has been praised.

| Most if not all the old time hookers were 'ard buggers.
Dagnall, McIntyre, Sayer, Kemmel, the list just goes on...

I phrased it badly, I meant an injury and then played on. Wellens' and Long's were definitely worse but they went off the pitch.
