| I do feel the feeling of winning has gone to the heads of some supporters. We can't win every game entertaining people, we can't be in top form every game and whilst I understand criticism is needed, some people do get a little carried away. It's hard to believe we've won tonight judging some comments, but we did and that is all that matters. Mistakes, flat play, lack of execution or whatever can be changed, but dropping points cannot. We done the most important thing tonight and that should be highlighted above all mistakes and criticisms. Just look where we were last season, we're doing much better now but we don't want to end up with a reputation like Stains supporters, who I've always felt as arrogant and patronizing.

| Good result in the end that, great defense only conceding one try in the corner despite us not being able get out our half for around 15minutes due to not taking care when playing the ball etc. Any one else think harrison needs to think when hes offloading at times hes like solomona but then he ruins it by doing a rauhihi offload. Excellent performance by vinnie anderson tonight aswell as mathers again on this form he really should stay. Without mozza next week we may well struggle as cooper doesent seem half the player he was last year. You dont realise how vital woody is until a night like tonight.

| I think some people have short memories. Not so many years ago and for a good while we could hardly buy a win at Salford - they hate us, and there's some sort of magnetism in the Willows pitch that lends itself to knock-onathons.
We had an extremely energy-sapping game only five days ago, while the Salford lads were chilling. We've had to bring a few new faces into the team and managed to keep the winning momentum going, which is all that counts at Salford on a Friday night in June. We've got a whole week's recovery time now, feet up and hope Castleford can do something special.
Well done Wire.

| We weren't great, but Salford were that tiny bit worse. I'd say that a 17 point margin definitely flattered us, as 1/2 points would have been more accurate. Good defensive performance which is always good just needed to complete some more sets.
We'd have lost that game last year or the year before...

| The pleasing thing for me is we have won an away game that we lost last season.

All memories of the legendary venue which was Wilderspool stadium. Gone maybe, but never, ever forgotten.

| We played a tough cup tie 5 days ago while salford players rested as already said, that would have affected our energy levels. We won, without playing well,it's another 2 points and i'm happy.

Theres plenty of reasons why we didn't play as well as we could have, and that reason is one of them. I'm happy with the two points, but I do wonder of we can beat KR with possibly five key players missing.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Quote: Wires71 "Exactly. Those who went will know we were very poor in possession. All this about "strength in depth" is a bit gash too. Clearly missed Carvell, Wood and Westwood.
Mathers had a good game, so did King in defence.
Another joke goal kicking performance.
Riley made a shocking mistake at a crucial time (knock on fielding harmless end of set kick) which would have been enough to have Penny lynched. In fact Riley looked very average in all play esp kick returns.
Anyway 2 points and I glad I got a cheap ticket.
Best forgotton about.'"
whilst I agree with what you have said, don't lose sight of the fact we would have lost a game like that in the very recent past. Ie: last season.
Couldn't agree more re Riley. If that was Penny and the result would have been exactly the same, he would have been castigated how "he might have cost us the game"

I'm with you.
Check Bradford out yesterday, they had an extra two days turnaround and couldn't back up with any sort of performance or result.
We've played Salford on a five day turnaround when you could clearly see we were physically spent at the end of the Bradford game, so I think to go there and get a result shows just how serious a threat we are in SL this year. Most weeks I think Smith is a performance over result man. Last week if you'd have asked him I reckon he'd have bitten your hand off for 17-16 and to just give the lads a couple of days off and re-charge as we're doing it tough presently with both the fixture list & missing troops.
Same this week, any sort of result would be fantastic given the circumstances. On the positive side, if we don't get any injuries in the short term, we're about three weeks away from some serious selection decisions and also the ability to rest players ahead of the semi final.
