When they get their missing players back ( especially HOCK who i rate very highly ) they are likely to finish stronger than both of us.
Whilst i would like to table to be
1 Giants
2 Wire
3 Goons
or as an alternative
1 Wire
2 Giants
3 Goons
I think Wigan will win it'"
You're not at Durham University are you?

| Quote: meast "totally wrong
it was agreed in february when cas asked to wear their new away kit to "showcase" it on the first televised game of the weekly rounds, we agreed and so it was agreed that on the return fixture cas would wear their principle kit.so either the RFL or castleford or both forgot or chose to ignore this.
no blame whatsoever on huddersfields part.'"
Bit of a stretch to claim no blame. I think I accept the explanation of why Hudds were in their away kit and that it came originally as a consequence of a request from Cas back in February. However, this was Hudds first game at the Shay in their current 3 game stay there. You would think that in temporarily moving home, you'd have some additional communication with the away team to confirm arrangements. Communication which might have included "oh, by the way, don't forget we are in our away kit, you need to bring your home kit". Maybe Hudds did remind them, and Cas still got it wrong.
Whatever happened, it could all have been easily avoided if either team had turned up with two kits. Can't be that hard to do that surely?

| Still slightly on topic, can someone answer this for me.
If Halifax weren't granted a SL license on the basis that the Shay is not of a standard to play SL games there ... why are they playing SL games there ?

Halifax have not been turned down - when Widnes were awarded their franchise, Halifax were told they were still in the running for one along with the current 14 SL clubs for the 26th July announcement.

Exactly. Which is why RFL rules state that away sides must always take both kits to away games and the match commissioner can specify which kit is used (or some combination) for the game. Sadly Cas had ignored this rule.

I guess Durham just isn't the institute of academic excellence it once was...

| Given the locations it would probably have been quicker/easier for Huddersfield to "nip home" and get their home shirts

If you read the thread properly I was quoting something our learned thread had said a few pages earlier.

No they don't?
I can guarantee that 99% of occasions the away team turns up with the 1 kit. This will be the kit which they will have been told to play in by the RFL when they designate it i.e Each team is told at the start of the season which kit they will be playing in for every match that season in advance of the season.
The wording they use in the documentation sent out (IIRC) tells you which team is playing in their "Primary" or "Secondary" kit.
