Putting it that way, then yes.....In reality, just sensible business thinking all round......Put players at risk in dodgy conditions for the sake of a few thousand supporters?

| Re;The rearranged date. Personally I think you would get a bigger attendance on a friday night, could it not have been played then? Or next saturday or sunday? It's not like we have another match next week is it? I feel for Jon clarke, playing on a wednesday night will knock a hell of a hole into the gate reciepts,as opposed to the attendance the match would have had if played over the weekend.

I'm sure those of us who do ring reasonably regularly know that there is no direct dial to the shop. And ringing the club gives you all manor of 'press 1 for.... press 2 for....' yet the automated response for the club shop just says 'pop down to our news look club shop, the 2009 training range is now on sale so please hurry while stocks last' and repeats.
So you dont even have the option to speak to someone regardless of people being in or not.

Jeez, some people!! So it's a sunday game, the shop is open for 3 hours before kick off. The game is postponed at 10am,therefore no 3pm kick off, therefore no shop opening 3 hours before. Simple really. Isn't it?

| If it was on Friday evening the backroom staff will have to cancel their plans that night. Might go Wednesday. More space anyway now.

| Quote: PADDERS "my mate travelled all the way from Southend on sea to watch this wonder if the club will refund his £60 FUEL BILL as well as his and his son's ticket !'"
That's unfortunate. However, given the weather, you'd have thought they would have made enquiries about whether the game was on and found some way of being alerted as soon as it was confirmed so they could turn back?
Quote: PADDERS "Has the club never thought of covers or hot air blowers ! very unprofessional way to approach a fixture at this time of year and it wasn't even that cold last nite'"
Yes, the club has thought of covers and hot air blowers. Both have been used in the past and may have been used this time too, I don't know. Do you think the club postponed the game just to annoy people? Or perhaps having assessed the situation and weighed all the factors up made the best decision in plenty of time so people could plan their day accordingly?
I had a look at my back garden in the afternoon and whilst the sun had melted the frost on top, the earth underneath was very hard. The temp was only about 1 or 2, it needs to get up to about 5 or 6 to properly soften the ground. Absolutely pointless risking injury for a friendly and blowers probably wouldn't have made much difference, especially on the south stand side that doesn't get much sun in the winter.
