My last thought on the game is about Sam Tomkins. I've said it before and I'll say it again. He ain't no full back. His attacking from that position is good but his defence ain't. He got steam rollered on a couple of occasions when St George scored in the 1st half. He just hasn't got the size for that position. I'd play him at stand off.

Oh, and he needs to cut out the arm holding when he's tackled. Refs are getting wise to it and he'll become a liability to his team if he carries on with it.

I agree. It also opens him up to taking big shots - both when he's catching the ball and when he's taking it up after a kick.

Maguire's going to keep him there though as he's a nightmare to pick up when attacking the line from FB.

Why? It's good to see a player passionate about his team and his performance and for the game to mean so much to him.
I'd prefer him to be emiotional than just run off the pitch and not care.

Quote: P-J "You're joking, right? They were lying on all game and ended up committing professional fouls at the end. As for the blueprint - good luck.

Happy with that performance. It's only a friendly after all. Good to see a SL team can run an NRL side close.'"

Lol, how can Wigan complain about lying on in the tackle, I think the look on the Wigan players face at the end demonstrated that this was not a friendly, it is nice to see a SL team can run an NRL team close........even though said NRL team has only played one friendly game so far before tonight and Wigan are 2 games in with 2/3 friendlies behind them

Went to the DW tonight to witness one of the best back lines in the game. I am still puzzled as to how Morris didn't end up with four. To the Wiganer saying St George were out on their feet for the last ten, sorry Chief, you are well of the mark. Last five minutes of the first half; yes. The last ten minutes of the game, they were throwing the ball around in a most un-Australian way.

The simple fact of the matter is Wigan utilise an NRL-orientated approach to controlling the PTB. St George are simply better at doing the exact same thing.

Yeah but he doesn't play for us.

If I was from Wigan, I'd support Wigan.
If I was smarter and had more driver, I'd probably;y be richer and more successful
If I wasn't such a misanthrope, I'd have more friends.

Fact is ifs and buts mean very little.

Not that I am one of the people taking glee in his hurt, but i certianly understand why some people are.
He's a runt and a cheat. He has a bag of skill and chooses to let his game get dominated by niggles such as head butting players on the floor and trapping the arm (and now the leg) of players to CON the ref.

I'd be disappointed if he did those things in the PnB.

Usually you are quite the insightful poster. Not usually hypotheticals and conjecture.
