Previous years cc matches against Championship sides have not left fans with a great deal of enthusiasm for the spectacle, but as you say this has a bit of everything; it's a local derby, SL v Championship, Maurice and Charlie streaking during the interval, families torn apart by loyalties, coal miners v wire makers, revenge for stealing Hilly. I don't doubt it will be on TV and watched by millions, they will probably make a film about it - one of those gritty northern epics like Kess, or Braveheart with helicopter shots of the crowds outside the HJ gates, locked out from a jam packed ground. I think that is where Wire are missing out. We need a car park so that fans can load up the picnic basket and enjoy a refreshing spot of bubbly in the car park before the match. I will send the idea on to Roger.

Hi D, no close about it on Sunday - we sold across our tills more than half and I know plenty who bought online and printed off from Wakey due to us selling out 3/4 times, plus the pay on day. 2500 travelled and if the rumour that this game will be Sat 2.30pm on BBC1 is correct I expect 4/5k to travel over

Also if this is a Sat/Sunday game I will be organising a sponsored walk from LSV to HJ in aid of Danny Jones's Family which will incorporate many pub stops - keep an eye out because I am sure a few Wire fans would do that with us.

This game has all the hallmarks of being a Classic,as has been said it has everything ,hopefully with the added spice of Mickey Higham turning out for Leigh.
