The press/media used the last 2 minutes of video footage to condemn the police' action in beating him .... the jury acquitted the police after watching the full 15 minutes of footage, including what happened in the 13 minutes leading up to the police drawing their batons!

So on one thread you are condemning the actions of a "thug" in Gareth Hock, yet in this thread you are condoning police brutality by 4 LAPD "thugs".

Jeez, make your mind up.

You need to watch some of the UK police shows on sky 1 and Itv 4 they do it all the time.

GH has more problems that turned me against him than his propensity to throw his fists ......

As for LAPD 'thugs' - if you'd watched some drug fuelled ape pound one of your colleagues senseless as you drove over to a crime scene, I'm sure your reaction would be to calm him down politely!

Not that I condone violence in the stands, but pressure points around the neck and shoulder or even in the armpit! put enough pressure on renders a "thug"/"attacker"/"someone showing resistance" helpless!

Anyone with a basic knowledge of Martial Arts would know this!

I've got a basic knowledge of a couple of martial arts, at no point have i been instructed how to prise someones arm off a crush barrier when they're doing their best squidward impersonation.

Removing their arm from a barrier would be similar to if they had a grip of your shirt and pinning you up, the concept is the same, just a different scenario.

Like you I have knowledge in a couple of martial arts and the most recent one I studied we focused on pressure points and how to render someone helpless by there use.

But like I said earlier I don't condone the use of Violence in any situation and those that go places to cause trouble, be it in a sports Stadia or a generally night out, really need to get a grip of their lives.

All this talk of pressure points is OK when you're in the Gym, but try it in a real situation when there are arms and legs flailing all over the place and allsorts going on around you.
