I have no problem with this being the insipration, but his tone & defiant body language was that of a man who was trying ram the criticism right where it came from, when undeniably the criticism was more than justified from all quarters at the time.

I like many others felt Leeds going into the playoffs from 5th would carry a huge threat and so it proved, perhaps I didn't anticipate this in all honesty, but it's been a special effort. Any RL fan surely can't begrudge Leeds what they've done and the manner in which they've done it, they've been involved in three see-saw encounters in three weeks and triumphed in all. They've scored some fantastic tries in less than ideal conditions and defended like trojans. I was rooting for them last night and they think they merit the title fully.

The only thing is, Leeds' biggest doubters were Leeds fans and he commented about how good Leeds' fans were on minute but then said "and to all our doubters..." which was a bit daft.

Rubbish! Leeds expect high standards. At times the team was poor! Mac was the first to say some of the criticism was valid, the Leeds players unstained that, that's why sini said we were the best fans in the world! He was talking about people outside the club. Are you the same fans who had Matt king flipping the bird at his own fans as you were on his back so much?

Yes, King did get abuse, though not a huge amount, as it was deserved, due to his lack of effort. Let's not forget the words of Wire legend Mike Gregory in his autobiography, when he said (something along the lines of) Wire fans may not be used to winning much, but they want to see effort being put in. King obviously wasn't doing this, so A FEW abused him, and he flipped.

Leeds are GF winners (well done), we all agree. The system (though we all know how flawed it is) shows it.
The BEST team this season has been us, with the Worriers running us close. Virtually everyone in the game acknowledges this (even Worriers fans). HTH.

You couldnt be more wrong and its truly 100% like this. Ask the bulls, ask the saints, ask Leeds fans. For those of us who have finished top gone to the GF and lost, the hub cap is no consolation and means nowt! Wire didn't make it to wembely or the GF! TS won't be telling his troops don't worry you are the best team really, wire fell a few hurdels short. Not even at the final hurdle. That can't be denied.

Some people are struggling to understand the comp format as they dont like that Leeds won it or wire couldn't get the job done! Funny how clubs fans who have been there and understand arnt complaining.

well done on your win..... loads of Wire fans have said exactly that, you are worthy champions now go and bore somebody else, and Leave wire fans to reflect on what was an exceptional season... most Leeds fans appear to be decent sorts you appear to be very different....

Well, whilst I don't think he will be satisfied with the lack of pots getting dusted at the club right now, I think Smith will be more than happy with how the season went, and I don't think he'll be telling the team to do much differently in 2012 other than when we get to the playoffs, we need to learn the lesson from this year in terms of dealing with the pressure better.

The best team doesn't always win the competition, it's my belief that this is the case this year. This shouldn't detract from Leeds who are without question the most deserving winners, just in my opinion not the best team. It could be said that it enhances their achievement to have won the title when they are not the best side.

If somebody beats Barca in the CL this season, they'll be deserving winners of the competition, but Barcelona will still be the best side in Europe for me.
