Lack of hungry young squad players or lack of quality young squad players? Genuine question I don't know which is the case.

I agree. It seems like we're still just happy with not being rubbish anymore.
We're lucky to now be able to support a team that regularly gets in finals but we should be winning a lot more of them.

| Kicking a penalty when we're 18-10 down.
Everything we do is so negative.

Price’s reign in a nutshell though this tactic isn’t it? I for one can’t wait for his reign to end now.

Not really. That put us just a converted score behind and the ball back.

Agree, at the time I would have taken 2.

| For me we don't seem to fight for every yard or have that desire to struggle to get up regardless of the amount of opposition players on our backs, Wigan players do it and so do Sts players.
Both teams last night had some great young talent on show, one teams young guns showed fight and eagerness to win the collision and play the ball. Sts young forwards took the game to us, Harvey Livett alone looked so sluggish and uninterested.

Why “should” we be winning more of them?
We’ve not had the best team in the league since 2011 and 2012. Since then we’ve got to finals but lost to teams who either had better packs or more creativity (or both) than us.
I know you can go above and beyond and sometimes the best team doesn’t win. But it’s not that often.

Because we have all the financial resources of a top club, marquee signings, wealthy generous benefactors, some world class players and a large and passionate support base. I see no reason why a smaller town like St Helens should have a rugby team that is light years ahead of ours.
Why should we not be winning the big prizes? Something is wrong.

Was this a mistake? Should read 'Harvey Livett alone [idid not[/i look sluggish and uninterested'?
One of Livett's best games. Someone needs to work with him on ball retention after the tackle but he did very well yesterday, made the sort of breaks from second row that used to be Ben Currie's trademark.

You are either blind or watched with no interest yourself ... you are your own with that comment about Livett... 'sluggish and uninterested' he broke the line more times than Currie has done all season and looked as though he was proving to a point to me. You need to watch the game again.

| Decision making at vital times is one of our weaknesses.
Kicking 2 with a minute on the clock when we’re rolling through them was the worst decision we’ve made in a long time. We had made a break, they were scrambling and we had already shown on both flanks that we could beat them.
How many times have good clubs done it to us in the past, looking back to the Bradford glory days, we’d be in it until 37 minutes, then they’d get a roll on and score on the hooter. Tails up for the second half and get in front.
We had a great chance and folded our hand

This. We need that arrogance that we ARE going to win, no matter what.
We also have a problem turning bright spark young players into proper quality Super League players.

This is the bottom line for me.... years and years and years of being able to go toe to toe with anyone off the field..... yet we constantly get things wrong.
coaches, signings, player development, back room staff (probably)... we are probably going to win nothing again.. the club looks like its needs another rebuild.
It may be a profitable well run club... But someone is getting it wrong all over the place when it comes to the things that matter.
