It's ok for a first friendly. Looking forward to seeing how people perform. By my reckoning there are around 10/11 not playing who will be in or around the 17 this season (whether we like it or not...):

Ratchford, Sandow, Wheeler, B Evans, Hill, Clark, Dodds, Laithwaite, Westerman, Westwood & Bailey.

I did think that when I wrote his name down but from memory he did appear in all/most of last seasons friendlies.

It will be interesting to see if R Evans gets through the game without picking up a 3 month sick note .

one of our most interesting players..... bigged up as a top years ago.... injuries have left him as a 'nice to have' player.... remember when he burst onto the scene against leeds?

Great things were expected of him and many an injury seem to have stopped his progress. As you mention, up against Callum Watkins as two juniors a few years ago at the HJ he bossed the encounter. Still looked very quick on the wing at the start of 2015 then was crocked again and missed a chance to consolidate. He deserves, like Simon Grix did in his time, a period without injury where he can settle in and become the player he still has the potential to be.

Perhaps some of his strengths lie in his lack of regular appearances....having Rhys crop up in various positions after lengthy lay offs is bound to leave him as something off an unknown quantity for opponents.

Only just found out I can definitely go. So I will have to pay on the gate I normally buy a ticket in advance so does anyone know if they have cash turnstiles on the day.? or do you have to go through the rigmarole of buying from an office and walking round the corner to hand the ticket in at a turnstile?

I went for a ticket this morning only to be told by a gleeful assistant that ticket sales had finished 10 minutes earlier at 11 am. She was adamant that this was publicised widely ,but i haven't seen it on any websites i've been on. Wasted journey,not pleased & have e mailed club accordingly.

Looking forward to a game after a long wait. Widnes have a lot of Academy lads playing, and I always look forward to seeing how they do.

He'd never play in this one. It will be very interesting to see how many games they get out of Bridge.
He always seemed to be struggling with fitness in the last few years. I was shocked when Widnes wanted him.
