Agreed IW
Every player ought to be trying to better themselves.
Be it to get an international call up or moving to a bigger club even if it's in the NRL.
If he doesn't have those ambitions then he may well lack that hunger to be the best.
He clearly hasn't so let climb his ladder. He's a Wire now so all good.

| To keep the best players we have to raise standards overall in SL and of course beat the Aussies, it will help if the comp can be competitive each season where a win is earned, no one can curb a players ambition so it's up to clubs to make the ambition here.
Just like the other posts I'm made up we could attract Clark and he's wearing P&B.

He is.
That's his ambition.

| I would rather he transitions (for 4 years) with us than anyone else. If, he does have a get out clause in his contract lets hope its a big one

If he continues improving at the rate he is, he'll be in the NRL within 2 years, contract or no contract. He still has a lot of development in him, his defending isn't perfect and he is a little one trick pony at times. He needs to learn how to impact a game when there isn't a lot of go forward to exploit, something particluarly relevant if he wants an NRL move.
Great signing for you guys.

| Top player.
I watched him in that four nations and what I noticed was the fact that he's not just some sort of scooter hooker that's possibly been labelled at him in the past but he's also a very fine scheming type hooker. He was always looking to get people in to gaps but obviously takes an opportunity to test the line if it's there.
He'll be at Wire for at least 2 or 3 years and probably more. Wire like Leeds seem to be able to hold their players. It's a good job because I'm sure every club in the NRL would fancy Clark and Chris Hill right now.

That's most likely because Wire and Leeds haven't had many players good enough. Ellis went but Peacock is the only Leeds player the NRL would have wanted and he was already past his best when the NRL woke up to SL players as a concept. I can't think of any Wire players before Hill and Clarke that would have interested the NRL. I think if Harrison kicks on he'll be a cert for interest as well.

Atkins and Ratch had interest to name two.

Doesn't everyone think that?
Besides, as long as he stays in RL I do not mind that any player leaves SL to go to the NRL. Playing at the highest level in our sport should be everyone's aim, and on the way to getting there you will have to play well in every game to earn the right. So his time with us could be very special indeed.
Until SL gains some actual decent sponsors and investors and we extend the salary cap, we will always lose players. But as long as that is only to the NRL I'll be happy enough. Just can't abide turncoats going to other sports.

Ryan Hall and the younger less injury ravaged Danny McGuire were easily good enough for the NRL. McGuire in 2004 was sensational (as good a performance by any player in SL era) and I reckon he'd have been snapped up if the NRL were as quick to buy our players ten years ago as they are now.
I'm glad a fan of another club sees how good Harrison is. I believe he's not that far behind Hill. An exceptional talent, but an injury prone player and when he's out of the team he's somehow forgotten about by the rest of rugby league and on his returns he's not spoken of with the hype that other players may get. When Ben Harrison is at his best the Wire pack is at its best. It's just how many injuries he gets that is a worry.
Do you not think Ben Westwood in his prime would have been a good NRL player? I certainly do.

| One thing is for sure with Clark. After his unbelievable England performance the NRL clubs are most definitely sniffing around. The fact they've put him in their dream theam over their own lads is gob smacking enough! He's said he wants to play in the NRL but it's going to be so, so hard to keep hold of him. I hope Simon and Tony are throwing money andcontracts at him.
