I reckon we should sign one explosive forward who can play pretty much anywhere in the pack, is a hard as nails and a superb offloader. How about David Fa'ologo on a one year contract as a potential signing? Just been released by Huddersfield, not sure of the reason why.

He's two years younger than the man he would replace, David Solomona, so it would contribute to the 'rejuvenation' of our squad.

Fa'alogo is also the same age as Willie Manu, who I think is an excellent signing BTW. Some of the best players in Super League are over 30 anyway, including two of our backs.

Would be very surprised if Bateman doesn't sign. We had an offer on the table pre-insolvency at Bulls, suggesting terms had been agreed. Now we can pick him up for free I'd be surprised if he doesn't come,especially as he's a straight sub in for Sol, and we have his wages free to give to someone (and we ain't given anything extra to our old guard surely?).

It doesn't stack up that we wouldn't make another signing. We're losing one of our top 20, and extensions to current squad are unlikely to have cost us more than this year's wages-more likely we'll have saved a few grand here and there on Moz, Briers et al. None of the fringe kids (Currie, Dwyer, etc) haven't done enough to force themselves into the top 20, so we have a space. Logic says Bateman.
