| Hill is more than deserving of his spot in the dream team, the fact he didn't make the full England squad goes to show how clueless Steve McNamara is.

Spot on. He's had a tremendous season by any standards, let alone for his first year in SL.

This. McBanana should be embarrassed for picking Crabtree above Hill.

| Tries this year: (all competitions)
Josh Charnley-35
Sam Tomkins-35
Ryan Hall-32
Joel Monaghan-30
Chris Riley-27
the back 3 is undoubtedly correct.

| I'm surprised that Finch is there, as while he's been good I don't remember him being brilliant - out of the two Wigan half-backs I thought Leuluai had been the better by some distance, though Dureau has been great at 7 too. Sinfield has been so important for Leeds at 6 as usual and, seriously, Briers has been long overdue for a place in this list.
Can't really argue with the rest - that forward pack is immense, and while I bet Hodgson and Riley were close runners-up for their positions, I wouldn't say they were any more deserving than those in the team.

| Would anyone on here have Tomkins in at FB for us instead of Hodgson?

| i wouldn't, grander scheme of things and all that.
the monoghonanan bros were on radio manc last week talking hodgo up, monas was of the opinion, that tomkins is probably the best player in the comp, but hodgo is the best fullback out of the two.

I think that's a very accurate assessment.

Sort of agree but in some aspects (especially his ability to read a game) Tomkins is light years behind Mr Burns.

He is also literally years behind him though in experience, and likely to improve with more. I would definitely have Hodgson now over Tomkins now, but Tomkins in 5-10 years time might be even better - who knows.

I really don't think Tomkins should be a full back.

Me neither. Stand off for mine but alongside another more creative half.

| Tomkins is definitely a fullback. He chimes in to the line just as well as Hodgson and has pace to burn anyone on the outside on an angled line. His try and assist tally prove this. His problem at the moment is reading the game from a defensive POV and his frailties under the high ball. All of this will come with experience, let's not forget Hodgo has 10 years on the kid.

He could do all that from 6 and then you wouldn't have to worry about the things he can't do at 1.

| I know Wigan fans have mentioned his assist rate, I do wonder about this. Is that a sign that he's truly creative eg a stand off, or is it more case of final passes, after he's broke the line on the end of that double dummy runner move they have.
