| To be honest I hated the home kit at first and thought the shorts were laughable, but in truth it has become one of my favourite wire kits!

| There is actually no such thing as "home" kit and "away" kit. There is the team kit and the alternative kit. I believe its up to the officials (not sure if thats ref or RFL) to request a change of kit UNLESS the clubs have chosen to wear their alternative kit. With it being a night game its possible that (unless Wolves had already chosen to) theye were request to wear the alternative. The final kits were "similiar" but on a bright August day it must have been felt there was no clash such that would cause a problem.

You better get on to the club shop, they advertise them as Home & Away kits. . . . . Quick tell em!

Thats just to make it easy for kids to tell the parents what they want for xmas . Its not uncommon for stores to advertise kits as "home" and "alternative". The main thing is there is actually nothing to stop Warrington playing at the HJ in the green and red strip as long as there isnt a clash

Now there's an idea !!!!!!!!!!!!! (although as its not a registered kit for this year, we shall have to wait for next). Used to think that the Harlequins kit design was because somebody couldnt make their mind up what colour to go for.

Agreed! This thread is turning into the famous Fergie rant about that game United lost against Southampton in those famous grey shirts!
Whats the point in an away kit if were not going to wear it..... Away from home

| Technically it's true that it's first choice and alternative kits rather than "home" and "away" and the alternative should only really be worn away from home where there's a colour clash (ie Leeds away and that's it I think).
However, most clubs now wear their alternative kit at every away game unless it clashes with the home club's first choice kit simply because the more it's worn the more they'll sell. Not many people will buy it if it's only worn once a season will they?
I'd rather we did it the old fashioned way personally but it's not really a big deal.

| There is a saying: 'Red and green should never be seen, except upon an Irish Coleen'! The colours clash. Only Australians would put them together. (Newcastle Knights are equally gastly), why on earth imitate them? Primrose and blue are the club colours. Surely an alternative kit could be designed to avoid any clash.
