Thankfully ,i stayed at home & listened to the match ,but we should be grateful that we didn't play one of the better teams tonight. Sounded like the weather was b awful & Thaler didn't do us any favours ,but for so many penalties in a game he obviously didn't stamp his authority on the teams.
Our squad is not impressive, it has been allowed to degenerate over several seasons with poor quality replacements being brought in &, without the standard of coaching to improve any of the players to a good standard, we are left with an nal of the kick to the line to score tries. Compared to some of the other teams our basic skills of passing,catching & backing up the ball carrier are poor & our poor discipline will take care of the rest. We sounded like Hill ,Philbin & Westwood tried but at the moment we are about the same level that left us in last years qualifiers.

Maybe that should go in the optimism thread, since to me its much better than when Tony Smith use to come out with the old lines of "we can take a lot of positives, we're getting there, lads tried hard but..."

Looking at the game, for me its clear the team are anything but a team, the coaches are not able to motivate the players they have no ability to change the path of the game, worst of all we have tough games coming and no one looks able to stop the rot.

I was looking at Chris Hill after they scored the try in the second half when the team were gathered behind the sticks. He should have been stood in the middle of the group firing rockets. Instead I saw nothing, no leadership, nothing.

perhaps he realised he hasn't the face, when his example was worse than that of his team mates!

I was slated on here a few weeks ago for saying that the start of this season is frighteningly familiar to last year. Hope it doesn't come true but it's there to see.

We shown enough vs Leeds to prove to me we'll be alright this season, especially with Roberts.
The gave vs Huddersfield might just be the one that'll ground us and we use as a reminder all season.

I didn't really want to get involved in this team bashing situation that seems to be going on through out this forum, I think we certainly need some time and I have every confidence that Price will ensure we fulfill the potential. BUT !I think this point needs raising, certainly last year and definitely last night the club captaincy is not doing Chris Hill any favors.
He will always give maximum effort but has zero influence on the ref, he just doesn't have the level of influence required to game manage a referee.( he is too nice!) On several occasions last night he needed to be involved in helping Thaler make different decisions but couldn't do it, if fact he went the other way and then got penalised himself! oh and wasn't Thaler poor! emphasised by his shocking decision 5 mins to go when he pulled us back on the clean break after wiping their six clean, they lost the ball then gave us the scrum!
We need a captain who can help the team by influencing the officials!

It is nothing to do with not being nice enough... he just lacks intelligence, charisma and isn't able to articulate himself. Cameron Smith comes across as a nice guy but he also has a brain, and is able to influence refs and lead the team.

Either way, Hill being a terrible captain isn't the reason we are losing.

What is annoying we should have played this fixture on Sunday. I know it's not an excuse but the weather definitely contributed to the awful game for both teams.

You lot sound like some of our Leigh fans, after our stuffing by Toronto last week. Your coach is new to our game, doubt he knows a lot of the players he's coaching against. Maybe in 10 games (or so) see how he's/the team are doing then.....Roll on Sunday, it's Batley Bulldogs for us
