You are lucky he did since Walsh palmed it back to hill with all of your team behind him, we would have been on zero tackle right up the field. It wasn't a bad call anyway, but thaler still did you a favour.

Spot on use of the term rub of the green. At the game rather than on the goggle box I thought we had the rub tonight it happens that's the nature of sport and it's not often we have it.
BTW (by the way) Lefty's analysis was spot on it's the ref calling try/no try and not being able to be conclusively overturned that worked in our favour. Thought Saints' first try had a hint of forward for the last pass.
Overall we deserved the result and yes got the 'rub' it's about time

| After the crap we've had off that lot, results and decisions, since early 2000's, that was a long time coming. The fact that it was a semi-final and they've got their pants in a twist about the ref makes it even sweeter.

Read my post again. Then, if you've got the game recorded, rewatch these incidents, and compare them to the current RL rules.
The current rules state that if a ref's call is No Try, there has to be CONCLUSIVE proof to overturn it. THERE WASN'T. At no time, could you see the ball TOUCHING a single blade of grass, whilst over the line.
After multiple viewings of the Lineham effort, Hemmings and Stephenson decide to get their knickers in a twist. Yet there is no conclusive proof that the ball left his body.
I'm not really a crower, but......'"
I agree there has to be conclusive proof, and this is why we differ, because I thought Peyroux's was conclusive. You can see the ball hitting the white line. The video ref, as with everyone watching, knew it was a try and did not have the courage to overturn it. I also think Lineham's knock on conclusively dropped forward. That said, if you don't think it was conclusive then we can only agree to disagree and the scoreline is definitely conclusive.

Disagree about Lineham, he never fully lost control, not clean but it was a try all the same, I agree about the peyroux try. I was laughing my nuts off when that wasn't given. Swings and roundabouts, same as the try awarded to Wigan against a couple of weeks ago, poor call. We definitely deserved it though. Hopefully we will finish the job next week.

| Nobody has mentioned the two Walmsley dives that manufactured 4 points for Saints. He's amazingly delicate for such a big lad.

Absolutely, the dive for the penalty that made it 8-10 was plain embarrassing.

| Just before we feel sorry for Saint's just imagine the tirade of taunts we would have received on here if they have won. The best thing they can do is log off, got to bed and dream of what 2017 may bring.

No you can't, and that's the problem. Every person who isn't visually impaired would watch that and be completely convinced that he had scored. Even though you can not see the ball touch the line, there is nowhere else for the ball to go but on, or over the line. (apart from temporally entering another dimension, then re-appearing 'just a bit short'.)
Unfortunately, the ref didn't give it, and there was no conclusive evidence the other way, so there be it; the ball did temporally enter another dimension, and Saints lost.

Twice in 2005, 16-4 up and we get done for incorrect PTB on our own 20, 3 quick tries, and the away game, 28-30 up and TJ comes on and gives them a kickable penalty to tie, then Long with his drop-goal.

| Looking in on the Saints board and reading some posts on the VT and from visitors on here, what is quite remarkable is how we as a club and a set of supporters have gone from being held in the highest regard after our plucky defeat at Wembley to a total disgrace tonight in some quarters but by no means all (they've saved their vitriol for Thaler and the VR) .......I know which one I prefer but no matter what happens next week I hope that we are a bit more gracious in victory or defeat

I dont know Why Tony Smith bothers being Gracious anymore...From the BBC:
Tony Smith: "I thought both teams defended really well, we didn't give each other too many opportunities. I thought Saints were fantastic.
Keiron fat lover Cunningham:
"Warrington didn't do anything special, they just did what they always do. I thought we defended a lot of their stuff really well.
"ungracious" should be Cunningham's middle name unfortunately for him it's actually Fat lover.....
