| Quote: mark_m "Big conundrum with selection now. Clearly Ratchford was not as good a partner to Sandow in the halves as Gids and I thought Russell was exceptional again and HAS to play, he just gets the team moving forward.'"
I suspect for next week, assuming no further injuries, it will be 3 out and 3 in with Gidley, Clark and Cox replacing Wheeler, King and Julien. Does leave Smith with a real issue with Russell playing so well. As you say, he can't be dropped. I suspect Ratchford will feature from the bench.
I couldn't go last night but noticed against Wakefield that Russell made 3 passes, all of which went backwards rather than forwards and to the intended recipient. That is probably 100% up on what he would have achieved last season. He seems to be picking up the skills Jack Johnson seems to possess naturally.

| Following on from Mark's point; if Russel stays at FB and Gidley partners Sandow as expected, then that only leaves the centre spot for Ratchford. Even if he comes off the bench I am not too sure where he will play. Evans needs a decent run of matches to see how he measures up. Atkins has picked up his performance and I don't think TS would drop him in any case. But I don't think we can afford to drop a talent like Ratchford. Unless there is an injury somewhere, it will be an intriguing selection problem for Smith.

I've always felt Ratchfords best position is centre. But wherever he plays its about time we had some competition for places.

| The second half certainly got the pulses going after a at times frustrating first I have to admit Salford contributed to all that as they played very well moving the ball about in good style at times, got to agree with all regarding fitness, stamina and mental toughness a real togetherness about the lads, Ratchford was very high in the tackle count for his first game, great to see Sandow enjoying his game kept us moving both left and right his kicking game and that drop what can I say.

He should replace Evans... Evans doesn't offer us anything in attack, just a solid defender.

Evans may not have Ratchford's flair, but as a classic centre he is a fine player. Last night he was hardly ever put into a space from which he could create and overlap.

| The very epitome of a game of two halves...Salford seemed to have emptied the tank in the first half but Warrington kept in their faces in the second half and came out worthy victors, a tribute to their stamina. Could Warrington have acquired the services of a top class fitness and conditioning coach perchance ?

| I am surprised you didn't turn the match of before half time Mr Brady. Power Knitting from Knaresborough was on the red button.

Had my mate Kenny not turned up to watch the game I would have switched off after 15 minutes, I envisaged Salford knocking up 50. .Shows what I know. Incidentally I couldn't spot your boiled egg in the crowd

| Did Salford throw their bench on a bit early and did their players( forwards ) expend too much energy in the first half ? I got the impression that the Salford coach played all his cards towards the end of the first half in an attempt to put the game completely beyond us. I don't discount the fact that it was just my imagination - but why did Salford run completely out of steam in the second half, after having all the possession in the first ?

| Again said it at the Leigh friendly about our obvious fitness levels, our fitness this year is making us very dangerous at the 60 minute mark
