Most people on here will not remember him, but my dad said that we had a pretty small, flimsy FB called Bret Hodgson, and he seemed to do quite well for us.

Absolutely not. Small durable players are a requisite of the modern game. French, Coote, Fages, Ashton and Sam Tomkins in his early days are all capable of getting a good few whacks and getting on with the game. They are the game breakers the game needs. Catalans rough everybody up, Ashton is fine as he is.

Richie Myler is a standout player for Leeds since his move to fb.

I don't think Ashton needs to bulk up particularly, but I think he can bulk up and not lose speed. If memory serves we already added some weight on to him in his first pre season. Good point well made. He had a good career, won a few things and I always thought he was decent for us.

Well to be fair, his description there was austin for the first half of his first season, and bits of last year and that's why he was signed, for fan excitement and media attention from performances.

Is Mathers still a part of our club? Wasn't he in business development or something?

The problem I've got is that I've lost faith with Price and his ability/choices to pick players. The fact that he's leaving makes me question his approach even further so when he drops Austin I automatically think it's Price's tactics or style that has resulted in Blake's drop off, not Blake himself.

Not anymore he left a few months ago.

I think cruel reality is that Blake has lost a bit of gas from two years back. It comes to us all.
It would be true to say that the Catalan half-backs are the same. Drinkwater and Maloney are nothing like they were.(just watch them run us ragged in the cup).
Austin always relied on his pace more than some half-backs.

I wasn't posting in response to what Mather's said as I'm not part of the Twitterati, more that he's a right to voice an opinion and if/when he did, why would someone question anyone on here referring to it.
