| Play-off rugby is where intensity lifts and the defence comes to the fore.
Lower scoring games, and defence wins.
I like everything Sam and his support have gone about our season. Minus the huge blip at Wembley and the after effects. Also the fatigue blip vs KR at home.
Constantly evolving and building to shape for one thing, which Sam won’t say.
None of the top 3 will have an easier chance to win a GF, however all 3 are in a different mini league to the rest, who are playing it out for place money. Imo.
This is a type of team I don’t think I’ve ever seen at Warrington before. No ‘bad apples’ no player egos. Grit and endurance that typically isn’t the Warrington thing..,,
And I love it.

| Looks like saints took a few injuries yesterday,
Walmsley limped off, lees slumped off, welsby went off, he didn't look good at all and was avoiding contact, though they may have been managing him.
Robertson also went off

Must admit, I questioned him over the Powell era. All too often we conceded late in halves and often fell away at the back end of games. Turns out either there has been a change in strength and conditioning, or this is simply an effect of a good coach and good environment.
Similarly, there were a lot of gripes about Marshall, but our defence is as a good as I’ve ever seen in 30+ years of watching.

People knee jerking, having to blame someone, with no idea of whether it's a thing or not.
I don't think anyone can have a pop at him and the sc team sinc he joined in 2018.

| I wonder if Welsby was actually brought off because of that pathetic tackle celebration like he'd just won the game

Welsby annoys me as much as he annoys any Wire fan, because he plays for Saints, and is one of those whiny little puppy players who things don't go his way.
However, he's about as competitive as they come and currently the only Saints player that goes against the negative Wellens aura that surrounds the entire team. He'd be amazing playing under Burgess. Not sure where he'd fit in though, as we need a controlling half to complement Williams.
The celebration looked a little out of place for the team, but I can understand why he was so happy on a personal level. Textbook tackle.

I would have had him here after watching him and Williams linking up well for England. But now Dufty is playing so well and CTW doing a good stand in job can’t see how he would fit in here.

| Not sure if it’s been mentioned, can’t be mithered reading back, but Lees absolutely right to call out Drinkwater, though my irony meter did go through the roof given Ritson’s actions 5 minutes previous to that!
Simple, get rid of the video ref review of things, I’m absolutely in favour of tidying dangerous contact up, but it’s ruining the game as a spectacle. I didn’t bother watching the game back because I knew the breaks would bother me.
Sort it out RFL or you’ll lose customers.

| I think SB is right, if a player stays down for a certain period it is an automatic 11 days out for concussion protocols.

No it's a silly idea that hasn't been thought through. What if they stay down rubbing their knee? You just incentivise another form of skullduggery. We shouldn't jump to an automatic assumption that players are faking: most of the time they are not.
If someone goes down with suspected head contact or concussion from a 'whiplash' type tackle, they should be off for 10 minutes' HIA straightaway. No 'how many fingers' and then skipping away to play the ball as soon as a penalty has been given. It's a safety issue. If they are fit and well, back they come after 10 minutes.

| If someone goes down with a whiplash type tackle they can't take them off straightaway, they have to go through the process to make sure they've not got any spinal/neurological issues,
You're ALWAYS gonna have that stoppage with that type of suspected injury.
