I remember about a decade ago, Pies blatantly spending over the salary cap to buy Fielden to play against us, in an attempt to cheat their way out of relegation.
As I recall Feilden was sat in the dressing room in his kit, waiting for the RFL to approve his registration to play against us.
Wasn't he ruled a Wigan player about 20mins before kick off? Now either the listing of the team sheet wasn't mandatory back then or the whole system is a farce and you technically can do as you please....or perhaps you can't do as you please unless your Wigan, who always seem to have a different set of margins to everyone else.
