| Two point win as a result of LMS attacking Hughes mid tackle, and then Walmsley throwing himself on the floor on the back of that. Farcical. And it'll be Hughes who cops the ban for retaliating. We were not very good tonight, that coupled with Saints brilliant defense, but how they got those two calls is ridiculous frankly. The Evans no try is also hard to take when it was sent up as a try and turned down yet Manfredi was given a try a month back for not even touching the ball down. Can't tell if I'm more p*ssed off with our display or with the refs once again being a bunch of s.

| most of the team were way off tonight. Unsurprising given the 5 day turnaround against a team with a 2 week break. Evans never a winger - need Penny back in asap and give Toby a few weeks off. Saints are bang average and that is being kind - a decent team would have ran away with that. Instead they won it following some theatrics from Walmsley.

| Also, Ratchford was terrible. Twice for their tries he completely ran past the man with the ball, as last line of defence you hit the guy with everything you've got, not anticipate a pass that isn't going to be thrown. Not to mention twice having to run 30+ metres to pick up a kick down field. Get Penny back now. Toby has potential and I want to see him grow, , but this time of the season is not when to be putting him in there. Had Evans been in the centre and Penny on the outside, he'd have launched himself in the air and got that try.

It can't be that hard to take. His foot was clearly shown in touch. Sufficient evidence to overrule the referee's on field decision.

| Anyone forgot the interchange we never used, didn't see Wilde come on the pitch what a waste of a bench spot.

His heel does look like it hits the line for the smallest millisecond, which is sufficient, I don't argue that, it's only hard to take because having been sent up as a try, and hearing refs over the mic many times this season saying "I haven't enough evidence to 100% overturn that sop I have to stick with the on field decision" when there actually clearly has been evidence, just leaves a sour taste. I knew we wouldn't win though, I've always said that we are never the kind of team to nick a game, like Saints are, we'll come ever so close, but we'll still finish just short. A white blade of grass did us tonight.

| I can take a loss if it was our own fault, yes we did have some poor ideas but Bentham was a disgrace.

| 5 day turn around and only lose by 2 and almost win it right at end, think it's saints who have to think themselves lucky.

Thought we looked very light at the start of the second half with Hill and Sims both off and no Cox and no Bailey when we should have been taking the initiative after a lacklustre end to the first half.
Ratchford's defence was poor a few times tonight. In fact most of the time we hung back in defence throughout the game. Not just tonight neither as I think we allow far too many metres to the opposition against the top sides, we're not aggressive enough. Epitomised by Ratchford's effort on McCarthy-Scarsbrook for the opening try, it was pitiful! (Highes will get the blame for leaving a hole but a good defensive full back finishes that tackle with Hughes round his legs)

| Their pack was bigger.
Their pack was spelled better.
Their 3/4 line is faster.
We was poor across the park and not completing a set of 6 enough and getting a good kicking game took its toll.
They made all of our team look bad, certain individuals more so:
Ratchford had a terribly game.
Sandow when he chose to kick, was too early in the tackle count and never found space.
Currie went into hiding.
No one in our team but Penny has the speed to match any of the Saints 3/4 line.
Tony Smith seems to have no sense of balance,we need to address this for 2017.
Toby errors are school boy. He was a great prospect before his injury, I don't think he is the answer at centre. I thought he might be, but tonight he convinced me not. Evans back in and give Lineham/Penny redemption.

| As Andy Williams once sang.....where do I begin?
Standard of rugby (in general)
Pathetic. Had any Aussies been suffering from early morning insomnia, and decided to tune into THAT, they must have been laughing into their Fosters covered cornflakes. No wonder we haven't won a Test Series since 1970. Pathetic ball handling. Basics, that as a competition, we are lacking. No wonder there are many on here , saying the SL standards have dropped off, in the last decade.
Our 3/4 line
I've been saying for weeks, it's BLAND. Tonight was proof. Russell, bar a couple of dummy half runs, was he even on the pitch? Atkins took his try great, but sloppy, otherwise. Evans is not a winger, end of. King is not SL standard (yet), end of. Penny (and to some extent) Lineham, have to be re-introduced.
Sky's commentary "team". STROKERS. The amount of superlatives whenever Saints did anything was nauseating. Hemmings gets worse, with his anti Wire tosh...."THEY"VE KNOCKED ONNNNNNNNNNNNN" , should we make a mistake.
Bentham reffed the game OK for me. Stains slowed us down a bit, but we'd have done the same, if the boot was on the other foot.
Quick turn round. Not an issue. We didn't look tired at any time. We simply did nothing with that early pressure. Add to this, crap handling, and indiscipline, we got what we deserved.....NOWT.

The pass to evans for his no try was miles forward so justice was done. Hughes should get a rest for his attempted gouge. No place in the game for that

| As for the eye gouge.....nah, not for me. Had that been on the floor, Stephenson would merely class that as a "facial".....and I've not got P&B tinted glasses on.

| We now have no credible wingers... and just Ryan Atkins as a credible centre... its a good job we just haven't spent over 100k on a winger eh?
Ratchford at FB though..... he is utterly hopeless against half decent opposition.... twice he ran past people in the process of putting the ball down, waving his arms around like he was trying to flag a bus down (lets not talk about the charlie chaplin knock on near our line)... he is to blame for 3 tries tonight... and ultimately to blame for the defeat... its ok though, as sometimes he does something decent.
