We are at home against a local team that are enjoying a bit of media attention having scalped a couple of SL teams in this year of potential promotion. Leigh seem to play a decent brand of RL throwing it about whilst not afraid for a bot of niggle. Then there's the 'Mickey Higham' situation to add a bit of spice.

Previous years cc matches against Championship sides have not left fans with a great deal of enthusiasm for the spectacle, but as you say this has a bit of everything; it's a local derby, SL v Championship, Maurice and Charlie streaking during the interval, families torn apart by loyalties, coal miners v wire makers, revenge for stealing Hilly. I don't doubt it will be on TV and watched by millions, they will probably make a film about it - one of those gritty northern epics like Kess, or Braveheart with helicopter shots of the crowds outside the HJ gates, locked out from a jam packed ground. Leigh fans will tell their kids about the day they had to walk to the match because the roads were completely blocked. ...............................and Roy Asotasi will play two whole twenty minute sessions, scoring a hat trick in each, to be carried off on the shoulders of grateful Wire fans who always knew he would come good in the end.

I think that is where Wire are missing out. We need a car park so that fans can load up the picnic basket and enjoy a refreshing spot of bubbly in the car park before the match. I will send the idea on to Roger.

This game has all the hallmarks of being a Classic,as has been said it has everything ,hopefully with the added spice of Mickey Higham turning out for Leigh. Myself I may arrive on a Blackpool Donkey,of course I would ride on Maurices back if need be.I have not forgiven my daughter Dani for moving to Warrington,she now even works there , though she tells me she's still a Leyther .For wise the Wolves should win comfortably ,BUT you never know,we are now full time and have a very strong pack,and a few talented backs, a good crowd will of course attend ,the Mighty Leythers arriving in their hordes,I can't wait,the HJ will be rocking.Charlie knows.
