He had a better view of the big screen than I did, but I could quite clearly see the incident after the first replay!!!!

Yeah from my posts so far on the matter you can clearly see I am condoning his behaviour. Answer this question...
Do you honestly think Maguire tells his players to go out there and gouge opposition players eyes out?

No, I don't. But I do think he employs a win at all costs attitude which can be dangerous when thugs like Hock get ideas in their head.
My point was the fact that he said there was nothing in a clear eye gouge is disgraceful. The most despicable act you can perform on a rugby field after assaulting an official.

| GMR said that gouging carriers a ban of 4-8 matches.

A bad example? Really? If winning trophies is bad then you may have a point...

I can't comment on that as I couldn't see it at all from where I was stood. Wouldn't expect him to condone or point the finger at Hock without seeing it properly, not on the big screen in the heat of the moment. I'm quite sure he will not defend Hock's actions, the same as 99% of Wigan fans, when he's seen it properly.

I'd hope from his comments that he hasn't seen the incident again as there's no way he could condone that behaviour. In fairness to him, I wasn't sat too far from Maguire and couldn't see the screen properly because of how sunny it was. It was only when I watched the match back at home that I saw the incident properly. If Hock plays again this season it will be a disgrace.

In that case all he had to say is " I can't comment on the incident until I have seen the replays"

| It's nothing but utter lies if people are saying he hasn't seen it. He saw enough of it to state 'there's nothing much in it,' therefore he has seen it.

I agree with you on the fact it was disgraceful! Maguire does employ a win at all costs attitude something that has brought success to the club in the short 2 years he has been here and virtually with the same squad as Noble. I think his view will change over the coming week, if not then it certainly is very strange because that isn't the type of man Maguire is.
I think it says more about Hock and we know full well he isn't the brightest, so if he is taking that attitude then for me there is no room for him at the club.

Yes you're right. As the coach he cheats, he pays off referees and he throws games. What are you talking about?

Simples'"
In hindsight yes, that would have been more appropriate. The quote below does suggest Maguire probably didn't have a good view of the incident. But he would have been better not commenting at all.

Doesn't pays off refs, just sends his cronie Wane to intimidate them at HT.

Okay, I think that is a fair and concise post. I guess we'll have to see what occurs at disciplinary on Tuesday.

I hope not....gouging is very difficult to coach.
TS has in the past dropped and even transferred out players who have shown bad discipline.
Maguire has accepted a number of areas of unsportmanlike and unpleasant behaviour and has brought in/back players with significant disciplinary issues.
If my boss does not criticise my bad behaviour and accepts it when the team is winning the message is that its OK and I'll carry on until he tells me to stop or the team stops winning (I'll not draw parallels with bankers behaviour....but its not dissimilar)
