Briers is a disgrace as well as the wires fans.
That's it.'"

Has there been history between Ablett and Briers, or has McDermott just thought 'Ablett's expendable, let him go and wind-up Briers. If both get sent of, I've lost a squad player, and Wire lose their lynchpin'
Either way, Briers is one of the biggest wind-up merchants in the game, and he's been "hoist by his own petard", encouraged by Leeds.
As I've said before, Briers was idiotic in what he did.
The RFL have a disciplinary process, he'll plead early, as guilty, and not get a ban. I fail to see the point of the vitriol spouted by other club's fans at this outcome, as their players would use the same "get out clause", should the time arise'"
The problem is that Leeds fans have compared Briers to Bailey, whilst some of the more intellectually challenged Pie Eaters have compared him to McIlorum. what they have all conveniently forgotten is that, because of these two players poor disciplinary record, they haven't had the opportunity for an early guilty plea when they been up at Red Hall. Added to that, they can't stand Lee Briers, probably because of the damage he's caused them over the years.

That surely can't be the same Lee Briers who had Trent (Man of Steel ROBBED) Barrett in his top pocket, the two times they met, a couple of years ago.
NAH, can't be!

| Lee Briers could cause trouble in an empty house.

| In the Sts v Pies game the other month the 18 stone Talyor came in late, with his full body weight, hard, head height, didn't miss and knocked the 10 stone Gaz O'B clean out. That incident is ten times worse than a half hearted miss of a punch that Briers brushed into Ablett who gave Briers a wink and a smile afterwards as if to say "fair play, let's move on then". There really was nowt in it.
Taylor received no ban for that challenge on O'B; Hemmings wants Briers banned for ten games for his minor altercation.

| Quote: Captain Marvel "As I said earlier in this thread, Ablett targeted Briers in the grand final with lots of niggly stuff in the tackle, so the grub deserved what he got.'"
Oh, you mean when Briers hit him with two high tackles in a row? Niggly stuff like that? Ablett embarrassed Briers by running over him for his try, that's not the act of a grub, that's the act of a quality player who got what he deserved - another championship ring. Blindsiding someone because the ref didn't do what you want is the act of a grub. Kneeing someone in the head (as Briers did to Delaney late in the second half) is the act of a grub.

| Long may opposition supporters hate Briers....All great players have been hated over the years none more so than the greatest of them all, one AJ Murphy. Carry on Lee with your wind-ups. As for the Ablett *punch*, it wouldn't even have bothered my missus.

| No problem. So long as the next time someone punches someone from behind the treatment is exactly the same, I.e no card and a grade A charge. Obviously the availability of an early guilty plea is what saved him.
However most of us know that isn't what will happen. After all the talk about this incident it's more likely the next player in the playoffs to throw the slightest dig will be sent off. All I want is consistency. Looking back at some of the cards we've seen over the season I think it's fair to say child bottled it.

| He wasn't behind him. Why are people so blind?. He was clearly NEXT to him and Ablett knew what was coming which is why he tried to block it.
Ablett is a fool for not knocking Briers out anyway. Made himself look a right wolly.

Think you are mixing up years there.
That was 2005, and wasn't in the play offs.
Briers knocked out Leeds at Headingley in the 2006 play offs with two drop goals winning the game 17-18......

Edwards would regularly Tw@ somebody in the middle of the park....and not even getting penalised....I bet you weren't complaining back then..if your old enough to remember that far back.
