| I’m not sure how Dufty can be both the best and worst player on the pitch, but he did it.
Awful game, truly awful. I think I counted 5 or 6 errors from Dufty, and he can moan and kick stones all he wants about that decision about being forced in goal, but if he just traps the ball and picks it up without messing around it takes the decision away from the ref.
Frustrating day, but 2 points. There’s a few who will look to take a shot at Vaughan, but Harrison made 27 meters and Bullock 13. I’m not sure pointing at Vaughan is going to achieve anything, he isn’t the issue. Musgrove was our best, in my opinion. There’s just a huge disparity with work rate, Powell didn’t carry the ball at all, Holroyd and Harrison making less than 30m from starting positions. It’s just not good enough. That said, can’t make many meters when you turn it over so often.

47% completion rate does not help those stats either.

| Not a great performance. Considering how little ball we had, and how poor our completion was when we did, it was remarkable that we won and how few times they actually broke our line. Harrison was incredibly anonymous.
Positives were that we were pretty resilient in defence and the three tries they scored came either from intercepts or on the back of a shocking decision by Thaler.

| A positive, there was a chance for Hull in the second half when Tai and Thewlis got it all wrong and the winger bombed it. The next attack down that side saw Thewlis come up with a belting tackle, superb read and executed it perfectly. I was particularly critical of Thewlis on this earlier in the year, and over the past two seasons, but even after a mistake he had the confidence to try again and pull it off.
And again, Musgrove. Different player today. Good meters, ran hard and that tackle on half time was absolutely necessary! Yes he got pushed back, but was in control of the ball.
Toby King and Ben Currie too worked hard. I thought Currie was going to win it for us when he made the break on the left, shame Dufty couldn’t hold it.

| One to forget. 2 points secured. Didn't go so can't complain.
Observation - we need more than a hardworking journeyman added to our pack for 2025.

| It annoys me how we don’t take early opportunities to go 2 scores ahead early on a kick a dg.
Why go for it under a pressure situation?
We got lucky.

Yes true. Expectations were low and we are better than we thought.

| I'm not understanding the Dufty marmite comments without Dufty today we lose simple as. Even when the guy does more of what people are asking for cover tackle if Welsby or Field get back and make that tackle their fans would be applauding not saying how he should do even more, take more of the high balls, he still gets stick.
I thought he was hard done to on the bringing it out call, there was errors across the park today.
But we have the best fullback in SL, with the possible exception of French now he's playing there in Fields absence.
Do i wish he cut out some of the 'Matt Hufty' behaviour yeah but id rather appreciate what he brings than look for sometimes undeserved shortcomings.

| We need to to take it right back to basics in the next game, and (obviously) cut down on all the stupid errors.
Also, if we don't have Dufty in the team then we're not sitting in a play off place in my opinion.
Could he be a better defensive full back? Yes
Could he be a better attacking full back? No
Oh yes, our forwards need to massively improve their game and increase their impact too.
