How did you work that one out? Rugby League is a play off sport. I presume that by the game being devalued you mean Leeds winning the last two seasons. The only people you can really blame for that is Wigan and Warrington for not performing well enough in the play off series. Leeds have been worthy Champions, nobody can deny that. From what I have seen of Super League and the Championship this year the players put 100% into every game, fortunately they don't share this view that putting their bodies on the line for 27 weeks is meaningless. Take for example Batley v Halifax on Thursday night, a fantastic game which felt like a must win game. Would we have complained if we won SL from the back end of the table in the past? Of course not!

So, we pay are money we have the right to go or stay as we want. It’s like standing at the bar and chucking pints down your neck, the trick is to know when you’ve had enough and it’s time to go home. It’s not so much the ones that at times may leave early that sticks in throat of people like you, as much as the numbers that turn up to watch in the first place!

No one can deny them being called worthy Champions? I beg to differ, worthy Grand final winners I have no objection to, being give the title of Champions is what I, and some others don’t care for. The RFL choose what name to give to the winners of the play offs Grand final, that’s up to them, for some people it’s an over valuation on the full seasons efforts.

I've no issue with a playoffs, my issue is the fact you can finish 8th in a 14 team league to qualify, that is what devalues it, we'll make the 8 no problem and that's the sad thing. Make it top 4 and then you have to fight week in week out to make the playoffs, i'd have no issue then if Leeds finished 4th for the next ten years and kept winning it because their league place showed endeavour through the year.

| I would say top 6. Top 8 works in the NRL because the competition is more competitive, we aren't quite there yet though there are encouraging signs coming from some clubs who have historically been SL deadwood. It seems there will be changes relatively soon though, no doubt a 12 club SL with promotion and relegation.

12 clubs in SL with P&R, I don’t know where you’ve got this from as a certainty, but if it were true for me it would definitely be a least a step in the right direction. Although for me the drop from 14 to 12 just means fewer games for the same season ticket, which by the way would cost even more to make up for loss of cash from the fewer games. Because of fewer fans that pay at the turnstiles. That being the case, I applaud your altruism.

It may make some bitter, but there are plenty of us who graciously congratulated Leeds for winning the Grand Final at the time and who graciously congratulate Hull KR for winning on Sunday. But at what point of the season can we objectively discuss the current format without being accused of bitterness, or does losing a Grand Final mean we can never discuss it? There are people pointing to the hollowness of the format just after we've lost a game which the format makes us feel we can shrug off easily - surely that's as good a time as any for us to point out the weakness of it?

Then you presume wrongly, as is often the case with making presumptions! My comment is not about Leeds winning the last two seasons (although the fact they have managed to do it from fifth has contributed to the prevailing attitude of clubs, fans and the media). I meant a devaluation to the week on week rugby. I find it sad that defeats and victories alike are now dismissed as meaningless. I understand that some fans are quite content to reduce the game to a knockout competition at the end of the season. I'm not one of them. That ok with you?

It seems to me that fans only seem to trot out the 27 friendlies when their side loses. We have had play offs of some sort in our sport far more than we have had first past the post, yet it only seems to have been an issue for fans since Leeds won in 2011.

I do agree with this. It's never been an issue, until someone actually outside the top 3 won it. Then all of a sudden the regular season is a write off. Stupid.

I've never used the "27 friendlies" line exactly, but I don't think it's right that results are dismissed just when we lose. I went to the Wigan game and it was exciting and a good occasion but even as we were filing out of the stand we were agreeing that while it would have been nice to win for bragging rights it didn't have a great deal of bearing on the outcome of the season anyway.
On a positive note I do really hope the World Club Challenge is expanded in numbers and offers a real incentive to go for as high a finish in the League as possible.

| After back to back trips to hull this was always going to be a tough game , especially with the injuries we had. We were poor however you have to give credit to KR for there performane and Dobson was class.
We just didn't have a bench to bring on - currie was okay , laithwaite was awful - constantly being busted of tackles , and tyke wasn't too good either. At a point in the game higham went off and another forward came on , think it was tyke , it went all downhill from then , Myler went to 9 and grix went to scrumhalf , we made too many errors and created nothing. hodgson and riley were poor also and williams was terrible.
I love ratchford but i don't think he's a stand-off.
I hope mike monas is back for the saints game.
