| I actually don't mind Saints. James Roby is my favourite non-Wire Super League player and Paul Wellens is a big City fan. Yeah they had that winning streak against us but I've always enjoyed watching them play any other games that don't involve the Wire.
Widnes, well, having not really had an adult life of derby games against them, and living in Manchester and never ever meeting a Widnes fan, I can't say I'm particularly d about them.
Wigan on the other hand; I hate them! The Man United of Rugby League (in all their negative ways!). Talking to fellow Mancunians about Rugby League and the most common sentence I've heard over the years is "oh I like Wigan, I'll watch them if they're on Sky." - DO ONE! It's the same as talking to a Londoner on holiday who says "yeah I'm a Man U fan, I even went to Manchester once to watch them in a pub." - DO ONE! A fanbase full of braggers who don't have any banter about them, they're just ar$eholes whose bragging nobody wants to hear. The team get away with every little trick in the book, lying on especially, like no other team I've ever seen (bar United in football).
There's no team I'd rather beat than the Pies!

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| Must their period of dominance in the late 80's / early 90's was a bad time for RL, with one club winningeverything and almost making itself bust buying the best players simply to stop them playing for anyone else.
A particularly annoying event was the sports report on GMR on the monday after a weekend's action. Without exception it would begin with "rugby league, and Wigan......"

46584_1279360105.jpg Warrington RLFC: The Wire, NOT Warrington Wolves

| Since moving out of Warrington - albeit only as far as Manchester - nearly ten years ago, I know very very few people who are into RL, so there's no rivalry from that angle as far as I'm concerned.
When I was at school Wigan were deemed the rival then probably Widnes after that. It's Wigan again now probably for on the pitch reasons. I'll admit all those years against Saints damaged me though, and it will be a long time before they stop being the team I fear the most and enjoy beating the most.
Widnes would be the team I would most hate to lose to.

Thought it was a Rugby League forum? Whilst I'm not totally against using football analogies, why not have a go at not being so BITTER? You and I presume you are a City fan due to the Wellens comment, have actually won something....enjoy it whilst it lasts, hopefully not too long IMO (19)

See^, my point proved.
I am a City fan, yes. I'm a Mancunian. Lived in Warrington for three years which is why I support the Wire.
I'm not bitter, never have been as a City or Wire fan. Most City and Wire fans i know aren't. Happy to support them when they're as well as when they're good; never jealous of anyone else's success; never rub it in the faces of anyone when we win; never belittle other clubs; you'd never catch me on a Sheffield United or Sheffield Eagles (random examples) forum pointing out that they've won fewer titles than City or Wire or pointing out how their crowds are...funny how I can't say the same about Rags or Pies because they are the epitome of a bragging belittler. Both clubs their own version of each other in their own sports, in my eyes.
I [itry[/i not to compare footy and RL but I find it difficult with being such a big fan of both sports. I get strange responses on City forums for constantly plugging RL (I think they think I work for the RFL as I'm always trying to raise awareness of the game) and I know a lot of RL fans can be quite opposed to footy (some call it Wendyball); so I'm always caught between the two.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

Aye, I suppose I just generalise on what I'm exposed to. I suppose every club has great down-to-Earth fans as well as dullards and mouthbreathers, as well as everyone else in between.

The only point you proved was that you are bitter and tend to generalise, it is a myth that ALL Wigan and United fans are braggards and all this DO ONE stuff is pathetic.
Most clubs have their share and according to some we (Warrington supporters) are ALL arrogant and Glory Hunters and have even been referred in some quarters as the Man City of RL...new money blah blah I don't of course subscribe to that view.
For the record I am a Warrington lad living in Manchester, so why I don't share your football allegance is obviously beyond reason, the City is yours after all, another MYTH and really an ubsubstantiated boast if ever I heard one.
By the way I'm glad you picked up on supporting the Wire and seem to enjoy it. As I said in my original post enjoy your current football success whilst it lasts, I personally hope that it is short lived, but, that is an opinion which I think I'm entitled to have, I don't see United's dominance as a devine right.
Finally, I also understand that Warrington as a town, has football fans of all NW premier club teams due to its geography and don't have a problem with that. On the other hand you seem to, by the content of your original rant and I think you should take heed. I don't mind you being Mancunian and a Wire and talking up RL as a sport but really.......

| The only time I truly get annoyed by Warrington supporters is when they start pooping on about football.
EDIT: thought the swearfilter would sort that out.

EDIT
I tend to agree and have ignored similar in the past see my first comment, but thought that I had a right to reply to such tripe.
In hindsight perhaps I should've left well alone, particularly as we live in interesting RL times especially as Wire are concerned and the future of the sport in general.
