| So in the absence of any info from the meeting, I will share what was said to me last night. "The CEO has given further support to the 1st team coaching and management set up, caveated that they are on thin ice" and to add to that "this is the most unprofessional outfit I have played with". Yes I was talking to a current first team player.
I am not a Powell fan, we all know we need to resurrect our season, but for me Powell is not the man. I believe that we need a change and we need it quick to get us a couple of wins before we end up in a mess.
The coaches that are available that I have seen are TS and Maguire (others may be available), I would hope either or would be able to shake us up in the short term and save the club from the drop and then discuss future plans.

| Quote: Peckerwood "Then why bring up 2009?
The longer fans accept mediocrity, the longer it’ll be until we’re back in contention to winning trophies again. It means the board can be relaxed about fighting relegation, and scraping around mid-table. They can afford to make below par appointments like Daryl Powell and not face the consequences of that poor decision. It’s unacceptable that we’ve regressed so far in less than one year.'"
I agree with accepting mediocrity. Price should have been booted the end of 2019 after that playoff disgrace, or 2020 for sure. Tony was here 2 years too long too.
I think what is different here is that Powell is in his first season, has a credible name in the game, has taken an unfancied team to a grand final and won a League Leaders shield in recent memory. Sure we are terrible at the moment but the board, I feel, want to give him all the chances they can.
But it's a fine judgement and I understand the "Powell out" calls now.

That was a player talking about the other players? Or club in general? Did they include themselves in that collective?
Also how can you simultaneously back a management team and tell them they are on thin ice at the same time?
Sounds like a mad house.

| It looks like Powell will be staying. Mcguire would be a good shout if Powell was moving on.

| Maybe that rationale is : There's no point in bringing in a replacement now only to get a good hiding by Wigan , so might as well wait until after that game, and then get someone new in to inspire the team to beat Toulouse!?!?!

2. Who do you want to replace Powell?'"
1. I don’t believe they don’t read social media reactions and maybe even in here, so yes, voicing concerns on Twitter, Facebook and here will give those individuals the opinion of the fans and of attendances and support wanes, that could influence decision making.
2. Michael Maguire. I believe he’s out of a job at the moment. Justin Holbrook is on thin ice at Gold Coast as it stands and could be sacked at any moment. Then there’s a plethora of coaches who are in jobs, but not head coaching roles. Anthony Seibold, Stephen Kearney, Jason Taylor.

| I really don't understand who would be unprofessional who is left in the current Wire squad?? Of course I would be merely speculating but none of the current bunch strike me as unprofessional / wayward.

| I think Thursday will be more important than Friday in terms of our immediate plans. Fortunately, Hull KR have SKD, Linnett and Halton back in the mix for this week, so hopefully they can get a result.
If Toulouse win though it turns Wigan into a really important game.

Does this quote relate to one of the newer recruits by any chance?

I can't remember many that survive a vote of confidence, surviving much longer.

Agreed.
Unless there s an immediate improvement, which there rarely is by the stage that they needed a vote of confidence.
