| A big positive for me is that hill just knuckled down tonight, discipline much better, no moaning and leading by example.

| Matty Smith & Riley Dean 1st club appearances.. Burrell, Thewlis & Johnson 2nd club appearances..
Livett, Walker, Westwood, probably less then 10 Wire appearances between them this year...
Picking up another 4 injuries during the game didn’t help and Hill cramping up at then end after a 75 min stint...
All these things considered, it was a very spirited performance against arguably the best team in the league.
Livett and Ratchford really stood out for me.

| Two purposely deplleted teams put out tonight. Let's leave that, where it is.
The game itself.
First half.
No problem
Saints deserved their lead. I can understand us taking that penalty, with 50 seconds to go. Good choice
Second half
We go 8 points behind, we are awarded a penalty, and we TAKE THE KICK??????. Hoping we score a try again(with a successful kick) and hopefully score again to actually TAKE THE LEAD, and (hopefully) prevent the LLS winners scoring again (they have a nasty habit of doing this)..
Is this how much smalltime we have become?.
Drivel. We were doing OK, ball in hand, until then. Saints KNEW they had the beating of us, at that exact moment. They were on easy Street, ever since.
Price (for me) has lost EVERY bit of good will he had. Pathetic game management. Pathetic team selection (week in week out, bar injuries/suspensions).
Can't (and won't) have a go at the youngsters. They've been put in an invidious situation, and on the whole, they turned up. Well done.
I hope to God, Livett plays EVERY game, from here on in. Yes he made mistakes, but, go refreshing to see someone take a risk.. Kick on, lad. At least you beat a man. A damned sight more than some of your more [iillustrious[/i team mates did.
Fast forward a fortnight.
If we play like we did against Hull, we stand a chance.
Trouble is, Saints did that to us, tonight, with their stars missing.

Just on Livett, he was immense for me put a really strong shift in defence and seemed like he had a point to prove. I was mightily impressed with his efforts he’s got a such deceptive left foot step, made a break or two look really sharp and strong. Other than a knock-on, he really seemed to eager to ‘take them on’ more of the same please! .. I would keep him in the side for next couple weeks especially with doubts over the fitness of Hughes & now BBM.

You’re as close to the bottom as you are to the top. There’s no arguably about it, Saints are the best team in the league by a mile. The biggest gap there’s been, in the Super League era anyway, between 1st and 2nd.

| I was pleased with the effort both depleted teams put in tonight ,ok Saints won again but it was an enjoyable game & highlighted what must be a trait throughout the St Helens club. While we were still try trying to go up the middle against their "amazingly fast, if dodgy, line speed" ,which quickly bogged our attack down ,Saints gave us the runaround with their attack by shipping the ball to the backs to go round our defence. We did much better when we could spread the ball & create some broken play. But Saints have been doing a number with their backs on most teams this year & that is why they are 12 points clear at the top.
Our biggest concern should be keeping second place if we fancy a trip to Old Trafford & let the CC final take care of itself.

Unarguable= undoubtedly. Arguably= just may be.
The best team in the league isn’t decided until the 12th October 2019

| To say Livett is frustrating is an understatement. No doubting he’d played well but as Duckie said 3 breaks with 3 brain farts.Needs go back to how to keep the ball school.

you are joke some of you on here !! always knocking someone down, he played with FIRE and passion which has lacked for months in this team. Ok might of made a few errors but so did every other player on that pitch. Played under 5 games for wire and your here again. Give the kid a break, he is one that's had his confidence ripped out over the last few months along with a few others and your still here doing the same, thankgod they don't read this drivel on these sites.

| I would have Livett at saints in a heart beat. Hes a rough diamond and just look how we have polished Lees and Ashworth. I think Livett would benefit from our coaching set up

| Did alright. Some good performances some poor ones.
I thought Livett did well, was up for it and tried a few things some senior players haven’t bothered to do all season. Murdoch-Masilla, Akouala and even Tasi put in some good minutes. Ratchford was class I thought.
Hill was up to his England standards last night for once.
In the halves, Smith was good first half but disappeared second half (probably lack of game time this season that). The young lad Dean had a very tough night but he’ll learn a lot from that.
Westwood was absolutely abysmal, I wouldn’t play him again. Genuinely terrible!
