| Maybe it’s just me but I don’t get the love in for Ratchford at 7. My reasons for this are a few but the one that bugs me most is he always passes the ball to soon, hardly ever see him take it to the line. Leave him where he is,the only other position I would play was centre.

| You would think that he will go with Dec to start with and only if that is proving unworkable turn to Ratchford. Not a great position to be in at the start of a season.

| I doubt even stef would want to play 7, he's looked comfortable at fullback and has been brilliant there for us. We are short of options, Dec will be there as first choice because that's the least disruptive solution but if we have cap space IMO we won't get better than the options that we already have in the halves on a one year contract. We'd be better off looking for cover elsewhere not least because we may have to buy and a one year contract for a player you pay for is not good business sense.

Ratchford has been the best halfback at Warrington since Sandown and arguably since Briars.
Personally he'd be at halfback for me but he's still superb at FB.
So long as he is in a position to get the ball in his hands often, I'm happy.

| Agree with previous posters that Ratchford should stay at fullback unless there's a dire emergency.
Wouldn't expect anything more than a "Ben Pomeroyesque" squad filler signing, as any talent would be under contract. W'ell have to wait and see.

| Even if it is a mediocre can’t-quite-remember-his-name player we need somebody. Another injury in the backs could see us in a sticky situation.

We will have to see who is available and IF we are given any dispensation in the first place but personally I'd rather see one of our academy lads thrown in to the side than us sign a championship standard halfback in desperation. Nothing should kick a youngster on like the prospect of early experience, by all accounts the academy side did well at the weekend as well.

| Ratchford is arguably the most talented player at the club but there was always the question hanging over him of 'where do you play him?' Finally in the last couple of seasons we have seem him finally nail down a specific position i.e FB I don't want to see him moving around positions again, it will disrupt his game and his form. We have to go with Patton and if that doesn't work possibly try Livett at halfback. Ratch to 6/7 and Mamo to FB is clearly an option but not a first option for me

Its a tough decision to make. Yes he has improved each season at full back. But if Patton does not do it. Mamo is a better full back than Livett is a scrum half which ratcford is more than proficient at if called upon.
The preferred option is for them Not to sustain any long periods on the touchline injured and for hoth Austin and Patton to play well together. But should that not work out the teams more balanced with ratch in the half's than Livett given our option at fb looks pretty decent?

For all that he was a disappointment Roberts was still a better half for Wire than is Ratchford. Apart from Sandow(n) we haven't had a really good halfback since Briers. I was a fan of O'Brien but even he has turned into a fullback.

That's only your opinion pal. Roberts played two good games and one great tackle in another. And other than that chase back and tackle...there wasn't a single thing Roberts was better at than Ratchford.
And that's my opinion from my own eyes. Pretty concrete.

There is a very high probability that neither Jake Mamo nor Ryan Atkins will make the 17 on Saturday. So I am not quite sure why a mediocre can't quite remember his name player would be of any benefit whatsoever? As it stands we still have quality not even making the matchday squad.

100% agree with this, we have a quality squad all over the park, much better than last year.
