| I do not recall Patton seeing the ball in any influential way in the second half. He put 1 decent kick in first half. People need to get in the real world.....although from Warrington amd we all want him to suceed...he aint good enough. Brown aint much better but least had his hands on the ball.
From what i seen, Hill wasnt that bad..and took some good ball in. Although i will agree he isnt captain material, too much winging with the officials. Potentially distracting his game?
Cooper??!!! Was rubbish before he left...and has been rubbish and a liability since hes been back. Get rid
Ratchford...mentioned on another thread my thoughts on Stef.....was suspect again tonight..half decent. At times..not the class at full back you need to compete for SL
Matthew Russell.....GARBAGE
Positives...joe philbin again. Daz clark, in patches...and walkiing out with 10 mins to go
Night night!!.

| Well we've changed the coaching staff and yet the problems remain. Tony and Richard are probably laughing right now. Willing to give it a few weeks though before writing them off as it's not uncommon to see a team take time to get over a poor season. Hard to ignore how dreadful we were tonight though. The lack of ability to play basic rugby is mind boggling.

Bit of a different set up now...TS was at a higher level, more of a manager with Agar as a team coach.
That responsibility doesn't seem to be there with Price, some of those TS roles look to be overseen by the board. Price is very much in the hands on the team role only with Hendo just his assistant.

| Without wanting to sound too defeatist, some players simply aren’t good enough. Philbin had a go tonight and was ok, but isn’t going to change the course of a match.
But he was the only sub that was worth the bus fare today. King is full of willing but isn’t a SL standard player. Westwood is long since done. Smith, well... potentially mismanaged, but was a waste of a sub today. Patton the same last week, we went with 16 pretty much.
Russell, as predicted by the whole of the RL network, made yet another mistake on defending simple kicks and it’s clear he isn’t a winger.
Brown has shown glimpses of decent stuff, but isn’t good enough for anyone with aspirations of making waves in the 8. Patton isn’t there, whether that’s a yet or not I’m not sure. Got a few kicks right to build pressure from repeat sets, but doesn’t create, doesn’t make chances for himself and doesn’t defend.
BMM needs to start training, actual training, running and fitness. He is a novelty wecan’t afford, and is a cheap David Solomona at present.
Chris Hill is either so frustrated that it’s boiling over, or has become a hormonal teenager over the past 18 months. He can’t keep his mouth shut and keeps giving away stupid penalties, which backed up by another ‘leader’ in Ratchford they give teams the field position they need to turn the screw.
Goodwin, Atkins, Lineham were steady, Clark & Hughes were OK. Currie seems to be feeling his way into games, and worked hard in defence. Cooper had a bit of aggression at times and looked ok, then went back to walking speed.
All told, not good enough. Can’t do any harm putting Livett, Johnson & Johnson a run, at worst it’s a kick up the pipe, at best it gives an enthusiastic youngster a chance to shine

| I travelled 230 miles to watch that tonight. (Admittedly as part of a work trip to Manchester).
I’m not sure where to even begin - I’ve never left a game early in 36 years of watching them but when Brown passed to the crowd with 4 minutes to go I’d had enough and didn’t want to miss the 10 o clock train back to Manchester.
It was atrocious and the simple fact is the players with a few exceptions aren’t good enough. The pack is lightweight and Brown is a real problem. He just slows the play down - the ball goes to him he does that double movement pump thing and by the time he passes it the defence is in place. Roberts last week was firing out long range bullet passes that created space for Goodwin and Currie to make hay with.
I’m not giving up on Dec yet but he was anonymous in this game.
Big Ben and Clarke should be coming off the bench to create impact. Philbin and King don’t cut it in that role. They both try hard but aren’t big enough to cause real damage.
I honestly don’t know where we go from here - we’re miles away from being near the top 4.
Huddersfield were hopeless - clueless in attack and their defence had gaps waiting to be exploited. We gifted them 2 tries. And they beat us comfortably.
Thaler didn’t help by letting them mess around in the ruck so much which slowed the game to a snails pace but we should be able to deal with that.
To top the night off - I got back to the hotel and the bar was shut so I couldn’t even have a pint!

| Thankfully ,i stayed at home & listened to the match ,but we should be grateful that we didn't play one of the better teams tonight. Sounded like the weather was b awful & Thaler didn't do us any favours ,but for so many penalties in a game he obviously didn't stamp his authority on the teams.
Our squad is not impressive, it has been allowed to degenerate over several seasons with poor quality replacements being brought in &, without the standard of coaching to improve any of the players to a good standard, we are left with an nal of the kick to the line to score tries. Compared to some of the other teams our basic skills of passing, catching & backing up the ball carrier are poor & our poor discipline will take care of the rest. We sounded like Hill ,Philbin & Westwood tried but at the moment we are about the same level that left us in last years qualifiers.

Maybe that should go in the optimism thread, since to me its much better than when Tony Smith use to come out with the old lines of "we can take a lot of positives, we're getting there, lads tried hard but..."

| Looking at the game, for me its clear the team are anything but a team, the coaches are not able to motivate the players they have no ability to change the path of the game, worst of all we have tough games coming and no one looks able to stop the rot.

| I was looking at Chris Hill after they scored the try in the second half when the team were gathered behind the sticks. He should have been stood in the middle of the group firing rockets. Instead I saw nothing, no leadership, nothing.
