the latest tactic I've noticed them using across the team (previously only a pre NRL Sam tomkins tactic)is when the tackled wigan player sticks his leg out into the Warrington Tackler either by wrapping it round a leg or an arm and trapping the tackler in. It's simply trying to gain a penalty for a feigned holding down.
The usual Grubs did it last nigh O'loughlin McClorum and Bateman , but even baby faced Liam Marshal was doing it.
but just absolutely priceless when Bateman for No reason at all tried to Bitch slap Hiku and gave us the game.
Lets enjoy it but nothing to get carried away about...Wigan arent a good team.
And I've been threatening myself to type this for a few weeks now
I saw it different. He and Lockers were the better players and around them was the let downs...perhaps making them look lowsey.

I'm fairly sure pitch was sprinkler watered only on our side of the pitch just before kick off too.

| It was almost a good game last night when a bit of rugby broke out from the boring niggle.
Wigan are like the rugby league equivalent of a Jose Mourinho association football team. Any little annoying tactic to gain an advantage they'll take. You won't notice it so much when it's your team (although as a Wire it does annoy me when Chris Hill does all that nonsense) but fans of the opposition do notice it and it's infuriating. Now there are players of all clubs (and Wire got sucked right into that game last night as we were doing it all over the park too) who do this but at Wigan it seems to be the lot of them and the worst two at it weren't even playing last night (Farrell and JTomkins).
The bad thing is whilst the once unwatchable rugby union tries to clean up their play so it's better on the eye; rugby league, with every extra flop, trapped limb, turtling, diving, pulling legs around that our sport does we are getting worse to watch and as a sport we're going backwards in many other ways so do we really need this one as well?
I'm glad the penalty count was so high last night, shows the game for what it was. The ref was good and it just shows you what kind of game it was, as it always seems to be with Wigan. When they have the quality not to play anything like that kind of game

It was the only thing he did of any note in the whole game. Pretty much anonymous for 80 minutes. He's a shadow of his former self since coming from the NRL & injury. The goons can't be happy having one of there marquee spots being used up by a passenger.

| Don't worry, a lot of Wigan fans are bored with it and we do notice it - hence why the attendances are appalling. I've stopped getting excited for big games for a year or 2 now because you know you won't see entertaining rugby.
As for wetting the ball, I don't see the issue and wouldn't have any issue if any other team had done it. It's not like he coated it in something you wouldn't normally find on a pitch. Then again, some people believe wetting the pitch beforehand (something they do for latics games too) is cheating too.

He could have dealt with it a bit better by issuing them a team warning, they gave away 3 or 4 on the bounce at one point in the first half, never even gave them a talking to.

You're all talking like it was a massively one sided, disgracefully ill-disciplined display by us but the penalty count was 11-10

| I came to say what most have already said. Last night was nearly unwatchable because of Wigan play. Nearly every tackle was cringe worthy, it's got to the point where you could penalise every set. A spot of niggle is almost inevitable from any side but that's not the case with Wigan, Wane can't moan about last night not being the 'wigan way' when it's been clearly coached and drilled into their play. You reap what you sew. No wonder their fans are frustrated.

You might have to re-evaluate that comment for next season

| What I do like about Wane and Wigan, however, is the intensity of their games. One huge criticism I have of us - and SL in general - is that it's played at 3/4 intensity
