| Great day out yesterday regardless of the result. Train there and back was fantastic in comparison to coach trips I have done in the past.
Watched it back this morning. Why was Sandow up against there 6ft plus backs when they put in high kicks? For the first try he made a poor attempt to defend the kick, take a look at the look Atkins gives him, says it all.
.
For the second he should have anticipated the play better and dealt with the knock down ie smash Sneyd.
Appreciate it was a red hot day yesterday but we need get sandow a lot fitter than he currently is.
All day long Danny Houghton was mom. Joke he didn't get awarded it. Great all round player.

| Quote: Builth Wells Wire "All credit to Toby King. He played well & didn't let us down. It was a pity that Ryan Atkins wasn't up to his excellent standard. The game turned when Gidley went off the field.'"
There were a few people who felt Toby King weakened the team, but his defensive work was excellent. Considering he only turned 20 last month and had played only 17 senior games, I thought he played pretty well. I think both Ben Currie and King have both made their debuts at age 18 and if we think back to what Currie was like in his first couple of years then there is reason to hope King can be a long term solution at centre. At U19 level and with more time and space you get to see his ball handling skills and footwork. He has got the natural ability, lets just hope he can adapt to the standard of play.
I would agree we missed Gidley when he went off - the team seemed rudderless and it lost those cohesive attacks. Everyone sees the game differently, but for me the turning point was Gidley missing that easy penalty, and almost immediately Ratchford knocking the ball on when carrying it one handed. Up to that point you could see some of the belief draining away from Hull and whilst I am sure they would have never given up, I am convinced we would have won it.
If Currie had kept hold of the ball as he slid over the Hull line in the last minutes, who would have won the Lance Todd ?

| I felt that at 10-0 up we needed another try and Hulls heads would start to drop. It didn't happen and Hull produced a magnificent fight back. Could look at Gidley going off or Currie losing the ball as reasons for losing, but that would be churlish, Hull were magnificent and over the full 80 minutes deserved their win.
He improved considerably in the second half, but how the hell did Sneyd get MotM?
Having now walked out of both Wembley and Old Trafford as a loser in recent years, I would take a Wembley defeat every day of the week compared to the total dejection of losing the Grand Final.
It won't, probably by the rules can't, happen, but having guaranteed a top four finish already I would give every one of those seventeen next week off and send the kids to France if necessary.

Danny Houghton all day for me. Although it's a good question whether a late Currie try would have changed the voting etc.
Will hold up my hands been critical of both King brothers of late but yesterday they massively took the opportunity and justified the faith Tony Smith has put in them both.

| Just watched game again and got to say Tony Smith is a class act. Always honest after a match win or lose. Shaun Wane needs to take a massive leaf out of his book on how a head coach sets the bar for the players staff and fans.Thought your fans were olso very good. All the best and hopefully see you at old Trafford. If you win that one I wouldn't begrudge you as yesterday was the one we craved.I can die happy now

| Thank you to all Wire fans for showing such magnanimity and class in defeat. You should be immensely proud of your team. Obviously I would love to do the double but if not I would like your team to win it.

| Defensively we were superb. Hull really struggled to break us down. I just wish we had a specialist winger in our squad who can catch high kicks for fun, then we would have held on to our lead.

| All of your fans that I met yesterday were absolute class and we all made it in to a great final. I have 2 friends that are the least interested in Rugby you can imagine - they watched every minute yesterday, on the edge of their seat for the last 20.
If we don't get to the GF but you do I will be a Wire for the day.

| As for Gidleys penalty miss 9/10 he kicks , unfortunately this was the 1/10 , we didn't lose because of it , we lost , if anything through Gidley having to go off and also losing Super Ben

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

| Thought you were a bit better than us for 60 minutes then we were a lot better than you for 10 minutes, then last 10 we just held on. Bet it was a brilliant game for the neutrals but I hated it, far too close! Hope you all enjoyed the trip still and those coming back today have a safe journey.

| I thought you missed a trick right at the end of the first half, seconds left on the clock and you were in "Position A" for a drop goal and a two score lead at the break, instead you ran it and it petered out into nothing.
Lots of if only and maybe in the second half but that one point would have given you a shot at a draw late on.
Anyway, as a neutral yesterday, cracking entertainment and just what RL needed in a showpiece event.

| A great game, not a great deal in it, we just don't know when to give up, and we really wanted this win, got to give a mention to your coach Tony Smith, what a great guy, he spoke well about the game and he was right, and he was extremely gracious in defeat, and to your fans, my 80 year old father (who's waited 66 years for this win) has never had so many kisses and hand shakes, by your fans, he was ecstatic and your fans recognised this, great fans, thank you, and if we don't make that GF then this household will be wire for the day!
