That's sport, fans are fickle we all do not like someone till they in your club.

| Full credit to Agar for getting the team playing so well last night.
No mention of why Peacock and Sinfield weren't playing - injured?

| But in all seriousness what I found is most exciting is that for the first time I felt like I was watching the start of a new team rather than a post-peak and patched-up version of the 2011/12 team.

| Nobody who played last night should be worried about their spot for the next game. Its nice that we will have such depth when everyone is fit, changing is just down right tinkering and not needed, let them gel. Injuries and suspension will happen that's the time for tinkering.

| Congrats on the win but don't get too carried away. Your strong defence (largely Currie and Evans) and Leeds' lack of a goal kicker meant you took the victory, but only just.
Leeds lost captain McGuire on 31 minutes, had a half fit Sutcliffe back after a very lengthy injury and, bless him, James Child failing to refer to the video ref for Sandow's try (to a man the Sky commentary team and their resident comedian Stuart Cummins said it should have been no-try). You lacked any real attacking flair, certainly in the first half.
By the way, wasn't Child awful last night. He missed serveral things for and from both sides. Not a first grade referee, by any stretch of the imagination.

If you don't think that beating Leeds at Headingley is an achievement then what is? And since when was the Sky commentating team the fountain of all truth when it comes to the rules of the game? As others have pointed out, apart from the Sandow try every 50/50 call went Leeds's way, so the Wire defence was all the more inexpressive for this fact.

Don't forget a half fit Sutcliffe though - that's the real decider........
Having said that, you're not allowed to mention Russell who hasn't played since July, Julien making his debut in SL, Westerman who had almost no pre-season and the fact we were missing 3-4 nailed on first 17 players. Oh, and also the self inflicted penalties and dropped ball. If we had achieved similar possession/territory to Leeds I suspect we would have put 30 on them given Sandow's form with the limited opportunities he had last night.

| Well I've enjoyed reading all 7 pages and now I've found my password I'll add my ten-penneth !
Watched at the pub last night darn sarf.
Desire and determination in defence was one of the very best I have ever seen by a Warrington team in the SL era.
No Wire player had a bad game, but there's plenty to look at with ball retention.
Sinfield was missed - but that's history - and injuries to their halves had an effect but you can only play what's in front of you.
Both teams will take plenty of positives from this match.
Russell - solid except for the indecision when picking up the kick through ball from Hall(?) in the second half. Sterling effort to try to stop the Hall try. Some good scoots from ptb 6/7
Lineham - Carried the ball strongly. Came in for a lot of work. No concerns that he'll get better 6
Evans - fantastic in defence ('reading' of the situation superb) and thank god for those 'knock ons'. They stopped certain tries. Totally different player to the one we saw at the end of last season (admittedly coming back from injury) 9
Currie - right up there with Evans and even more dangerous in attack. (Loved the mid field run, and the desire to stop Burrow / get to Watkins). Just how good is this kid going to be? All things being equal he's our first choice left centre unless Atkins has really proved himself in the off-season 9
Penny - careless with the ball for the knock-on (try opportunity for Leeds), needlessly shoved Briscoe out (penalty to Leeds), but in the right place for his try and more impressively his one on one tackle late on resulting in a Leeds pass forward was top draw 6
Gidley - that's why we bought him. Real good influence on the park. Got through a stack of work defensively and some useful work in attack. I want him with Sandow in the halves week in week out on this performance 8
Sandow - enjoying his job. You can tell. Defensively did well and the reading of the game with the cross-field kick was Briers-esque. Quite a lot of armory in his kit-bag. 8
Hill - very solid job. Strong defensively and drove the ball in hard. Got a bit frustrated at times and gave away a couple of pens. 8
Clark - some good defensive stuff and made yards with ptb runs (particularly late on) causing Leeds problems 7/8
Sims - 2 unforced knock-ons but did a lot of work - again particularly in defence 7
Hughes - gave away pens for lying on, but looks useful and will get better. 6/7
Westwood - some real good stuff by Bennie 7/8
Westermann - that guy got through a shed load of work and really impressed me. I think working under TS is just what he needs 8
Cox - wasn't expecting much, but some real strong runs in attack caused Leeds real problems 7
Dwyer - gave us a real lift when we needed it. Typical Dwyer 7
King - solid without being spectacular. Played well 6/7
Julien - impressive debut. Similar to Cox's 7
The TEAM appear to be together - early days. When the going gets tough - and it will - that's when we'll see how good it is.
But very encouraging.
Whether there's a 'John Clarke' influence or not (or a Richard Agar one for that matter) I don't know, but clearly a lot of work has been put in off season and we're up and running with 2 points.
I'd keep the same team for next week if everyone is fit.

| Very pleasantly surprised with Cox (I'd forgotten how big he is) and Julien. The whole squad looked really fit and seriously up for it.

| Team spirit seems light years ahead of last year. Looked like Ben W has bulked up (looking towards the front row?). Evans was phenomenal in defence and I suspect is fully fit for the first time in an age. D Clark looked happy in his job, I expect he will have a good season. Currie...all being well will have a similar impact on the game as Scully but hopefully without the move!
Gidley may prove to be the rudder we were missing last year and Sandow has the X factor.
Not sure it's the year of the Wolf but it should be a better year than last year!
