| Criticism can help a determined mind to correct, develop and except and dismiss.
The best players in the world have all had it, it's about what they do with it.
Slightly off topic.
When Simon Cowell introduced the first of his talent shows in the USA, he was enemy no1 for telling the contestants they couldn't sing, and take up to forget about wasting their time, hoping to be a singer.
The crowd boo'd him, one of the judges threatened him, telling him this is not the American way to destroy a persons dream! You must support them and clap them!
Cowell refused, by the end if the first series, he had single handedly changed the views on the American way to a nation.
My point loosely being supporting them just because they are playing as a wire and refusing to give criticism isn't particularly going to be a positive measure, if he has none, then he may well adopt the status quo mentality as opposed to looking for improvement within himself.
Just saying.

Simon Cowell is a millionaire expert in the music industry so people respect his opinion.
Most people on here would get knackered walking to the bus stop.
Hardly the same?

| Is it? It's nothing to do with our approval of his critical views that have helped to make him a multimillionaire then?

| Quote: Uncle Rico "Whilst I agree that mark is a good poster and look forward to reading his POV (like yours and everyone else's) I would also suggest that one man's reasoned critique is another man's 'spout of rubbish'.
Each to there own I say, as great as it is to be optimistic and supportive, there is also surely a place for criticism? Hopefully it's constructive but without passion that sometimes skews debate whether a rant after a defeat or a bout of giddiness following a famous victory then sport wouldn't quite be sport.
We don't want the forum turning into a virtual version of the Stepford Wives do we? Everything in the garden isn't rosy and opinions on why it isn't are worth debating, unfortunately we have lost more games this season than we are accustomed to recently....ergo.
You might not agree wit him but in defence of running man, the longevity of his 'support' does buy him some 'rights' as he's seen the best of times and also seen us on not quite so top form, even worse than we are now. Equally, I'd always be wary of someone basing their judgement with an opening line, " Well I've been a Wolves fan since 09 and....."
NTW'"
I appreciate that some people on here are older (and maybe wiser!) and have supported Warrington for a very long time, but I've been a fan since 2002 (when a good mate got me into a game) and I don't believe that makes me any less of a fan than someone who has been supporting them since 1957.
I agree though as this is a forum there should be criticism to go hand in hand with praise, it wouldn't be much of a forum if everything was happy and there were no problems to report.

Maybe the fact that he plagiarised his "critical views" from Nigel Lythgoe helped make him more of a multimillionaire, though his production company was founded a good 3 years before X Factor even hit TV screens.

I don't do linky stuff as it's too technically demanding for me Smiffy but I in short and i will be wrong here but it was a 70's film new family moves into a new neighbourhood and everything is 'perfect' too perfect it's about mind controlling as they try and change the new family to fit in. The change is effected through the woman of the house who are all submissive and compliant and all blondes (in my version any way ha ha)
All in all a GREAT IDEA? only kidding for any ladies out there

Apologies if my post gave the impression that I'd only consider views valid from anyone that had seen Derek Whitehead kick 2 points worth or prior. If you watched your first game last week and fell in love you'd be no less of a fan, (you'd be crazy), but, basing an argument on one game seen might be open to question and I've no idea when/if that "are but did you see us at Central Park that time when...." counts

Don't need to apologise Unc, I do understand where you are coming from with your post.

| I'll agree this season hasnt been good although we've got to a semi and still have a route to the Grand Final but IMO for me questioning his position over this season is bull, last season we was a drop goal away from a third Grand Final in a row after the biggest squad changes in his reign including losing our best player without a replacement until yesterday, nobody expected us to challenge 12 months ago with so many quality players leaving, we've added some good players this season and with more to come next season.
If you cant allow him one bad season I think youve definitely been spoilt since he came.

Sport is about winning or being exciting to watch. If you're neither of those things, changes have to be made until you are.

Sport is about making money nowadays - very lucrative business. In football you pay for a trophy, RL hasn't got to that level yet but I bet it comes one day.
You can not be exciting to watch, not win any trophies but as long as the books balance and the top dogs get paid this is good business. Not to say it could be an even better business with the first two points worked on.
