in all seriousness I'm with Vespid's earlier post stating, if you are stupid enough to put unhealthy stuff in your body because you like the sports teams it is associated with, you are a fool.

As a young impressionable kid my most favourite sporting image was the black and gold JPS lotus (the 72 in particular) even as a college student I had a black and gold JPS lotus shirt and the same branded watch. I loved formula one in the 80's, and cigarette advertising was absolutely glamourised, they even made Camel cigarettes look good......Ive never smoked in my life and have never wanted to....

Deary me today. If advertising doesn't persuade people to buy things why do companies spend millions on it? Advertising/ marketing creates need.

The thing that bothers me is the hypocrisy of it. The club will make a stance and ban something they don't believe in; unless there is money in it for them.

Trust me, only an idiot would start out vaping and then start smoking. It just doesn't work like that, and have heard of no one that has through all the vaping forums and social media. You know what, every new generation is impressionable, that's how we end up drinking/smoking and taking other recreational substances. If the next generation start vaping instead of actually smoking, then the country and the NHS will be in a much better state than it is now, being drained by poorly smokers.

I dont see the problem with this, my kids wont even be aware of any new sponsor as they are not interested in who sponsors the club they just like watching the game.

im sure a few of the posters in this thread think the club are injecting heroin directly into their childrens eyeballs.

You might be right for now, but over a period of time the club and the media will stop using the name South Stand altogether and it will be known as Truvape stand. If you think that someone is going to hear this name over a period of time and not be inquisitive as to what it means then you're in for a shock. There's a reason companies pay large amounts in marketing and advertising and it's not just to get rid of spare money they have.

I don't smoke myself and it doesn't bother me if I'm near someone who does, but I do feel it's a bad association for the club. This just about sums it up.

I just can't understand where the uproar is coming from. One of our most iconic kits ever had Vladivar across the front, we were sponsored by Greenalls for years, have competed in the John Player Trophy, Silk Cut Challenge Cup, stones Bitter Championship, Tetleys super league and sell alcohol in the ground. And people are up in arms about something that is legal and bringing money into the club. Anyone would think we were renaming the stand "The heroin is great, go try it kids" stand. Completely and utterly over the top response.
