But I am not sure it sends out a great signal for the future British game if our strategy is based on looking around the reserve competitions in Australia for halfbacks with European passports.'"
The signal that it sends is; the best available halfback will be signed by any means necessary.

Signing Langer or Johns sent out that signal, signing a reserve grader just because they have an EU passport sends a signal, Warrington are now a club occupying the same part of the market as Widnes.

| Is this RL mole guy an actual credible journalist? Because on his twitter he seems like a knob. I searched his posts for Warrington and something comes up with him claiming a "scoop" that Richie Myler is leaving Warrington with a year to go on his contract to go to the NRL.
If he's come up with any great predictions I'm willing to change my mind but at the moment I'm more inclined to get my transfer info from rubber duckie on here.

Hell of a signing if true but we'd have to offer him a package that would beat both his current one and one another NRL club would offer, because there are clubs in Aus who would love his services.'"
Signed a monster four year deal with Melbourne that will keep him there until the end of 2016.

The brutal reality is the likes of any player of that calibre will not be seen in SL for a long, long time. As I said, whatever means necessary to find the best available halfback. If that is a Holden Cup player, so be it.

| I don't know if recruiting in the reserve grade NRL, or the championship, means Wires standards have descended, is a reflection that better quality half-backs are struggling to get game time with prestige clubs, is a reflection on overall standards of SL or a combination of factors but I know this, and I said it months ago:
Bridge & Ratchford, as a combination and on 2014 form, are the equal of any half-back partnership in SL.
Wigan, Leeds, Saints, Cas you name anyone you want I wouldn't swop their half-backs for B & R.
The advantage these teams have is that they have settled on their best combo and stuck with it. They have endured some rough spells, some hammerings and some poor form but they stuck with it. We have continued to tinker - even when we were in the midst of a superb unbeaten run and playing excellent rugby, we couldn't resist the urge to break the partnership up to accomodate others.
I repeat - irrespective of whether we bring an NRL reserver grader in, an NRL superstar, a championship protege or whether we stick with what we have, we need to decide who is our combination and have the courage to stick with it for a prolonged spell, to prove once and for all if certain players are up to it.

| It has to be Cameron Smith then. I understand he played most of his junior rugby in the halves and that his is best position.
Is Blake Green Bound for the Storm?
If so Ben Roberts may be a possibility.
The top two tiers of NRL halves would be out of our league
Tier 1 - Johnson,JT,DCE,Cronk, Foran, Hodgkinson, Reynolds, Marshall,
Tier 2 - Sandow, Mullen, Soward, Brookes, Hunt, etc
We could have a shot at Campese or Carney but both are a risk for different reasons. somebody like Mitchel Pearce or Wallace might be realistic targets.
In a way I would love to go with what we have and for it to come off.

Ben Roberts has signed for Cas.
For some reason, Mitchell Pearce is highly regarded at the Roosters. Wallace is one of that there may be the slightest chance of getting over to SL.

| Rather sign a halfback with a good few years in him. Mid 20's preferably.

don't know of any signings, but heard that our club wont stand in the way of Monas who is considering an offer of assistant to Lowes at Bradford as opposed to a guaranteed minor coaching role here.
