| Some very funny comments here. I thought that someone would say 'Chris meet Stefan. Stefan meet Chris' under the bomb. But I don't blame Chris for coming in from the wing when the opposing centre has left the player in front of him grasping thin air. Also House got through a h3ll of a lot of work. No wonder he looked shattered. 40 odd tackles. People also forget that MM was brought in as a half back. Just observations on the comments.... We were still total cr9p and looked totally disorganised. I honestly don't think I've ever been as angry about a wire performance.

| Just one point on M. Monaghan. Yes, he came here as a half-back and probably thought he could make it as a half-back in the "weaker" English comp, having been moved to hooker to accomodate Matt Orford @ Manly.
Despite the obvious lack of flair in the position Cullen persisted and paid for his stubbornness with his job.
Monaghan was moved to hooker and became the finest hooker in the English comp throughout that period. His pace from acting half and distribution were a key factor in our success; sadly, the 2014 model looks to have the same issues as the 2013 - the heart is willing but the body is gone and he now a passenger.
Whatever the pros and cons of using Monaghan in preference for say, Dwyer, at hooker he will never be the answer at half-back, because even when he was fully-fit, fresh and at the peak of his powers he never was.

Well, to be honest, I know a lot of Saints fans and they are all sound people and are very knowledgeable about the sport and Saints, one guy in particular.
However the Saints fans that seem to always fester on this board and bring nothing to the table by way of a debate are just boring!

Trophy room? Yeah, the SL and World Club Challenge trophies have been in ours during our history.
Have they been in yours?
Sadly for your mob, RL didn't begin in 2009.

Bloody hell.
How can Wire fans bang on to Saints fans about trophies??? They blow you lot clean out the water when it comes to silverware.
And for the record I support neither club.

So do Swinton pal but it depends on how much of a nob you want to be regarding banging on about trophies won ages ago.
You can bet your life if we win nothing this year but happen to mention our three challenge cups, League leaders romp, and two grand finals in the last few years people will tell us to stop living in the past.
Anyway to all our friends from St Helens welcome back to the Wire forum you've been missed.

To be fair, you won as much as we did last season. Is there an actual cut off for discounting trophies as being 'in the past' or just when it's convenient to you?

| Everyone saying Waterhouse got through a lot of work, yes he did, but it lacked quality. He dropped off a lot of tackles, including the first of the game. Him and Asotasi were lazy for tries 2 and 3. He needs to pick his game up.

I'm just saying that if you try to take the out of someone for not winning something, when you've nor won anything yourself for a few years, it makes you sound a bit stupid. Especially when the other team have won four trophies in that time.
