over the past few weeks ive noticed a new rule that has crept into our game without us all knowing,cast your mind back to the cats saints game.cats score a try from a kick which got ruled out cos a cats player laid a finger on a saints player.then last night joel competes in the air for a ball catches it scores and that gets chalked off.so there this new rule is you cant compete for a high ball with a saints player...so when did this come in

One of the more pleasing aspects of last night, was the amount of times we broke through the line of the second best defensive team (as we were REGULARLY informed) in the competition. 4 tries, a couple chalked off, a couple of times where we lacked pace, a couple of wrong decisions. At times, we were sensational.

That Monaghan no try (it should have been given. I'd still say the same, if the boot had been on the other foot, and it had happened against us), looked like it was going to be pivotal. Stains scored within a few minutes of that, and started to exert pressure....we stood up to it, and we showed we had balls, against a big team.

At times, it was our best display, since the annihilation of Leeds in the CCFinal of 2010.

Briers was interviewed on pitch and stirred the pot saying they were playing the next match in 4 days. Hemmings said something like "Thats just silly, he knows its 5 days, thats just ridiculous"

I can not really remember the exact words, so if anybody has a copy of the game I would be interested. But he was certainly peed off, I thought his wig was going to slip over his ears.

Yes, I remember that. Trouble is when you get to 120 yrs old, the memory is not as good as it used to be.

I think Eddie was being waaaay too literal.

By my maths (and it would be a realistic and pragmatic approach)

Play Monday night
Tuesday- 1
Wednesday- 2
Thursday-3
Friday- 4
and play Saturday.

4 full days off.

Edit: it would be foolish to suggest that they just get to the HJ at half four. They will have spent Saturday morning etc doing stuff

Plus it was a late game on Monday and an early on Sat; the opposite of a usual short turn around

It could happen. Even a loveable ( or is it loving), knowledgable guy as Eddie can get irritated from time to time. He can't be perfect all the time.
