It was a little intimidating outside the station last night

Do you think the South Stand is full of familes? I stand near the halfway line at the top and I would say 90% of those stood around me are male, Aged 17-50. I don't know if this is the same all along the stand.

No Bob, this is why i said the following, our hard core are in the one stand i.e the South Stand.

We lack atmosphere, simply because of our clientelle

In the last 8 years, we've acquired approx 5000 new fans. It's that simple. They weren't used to/never experienced a Lancs Cup Semi v Widnes, a New Year's day v Wigan, a second half comeback after a Tony Barrow bollocking at half time. We've got a lot of new fans, who aren't used to a "Wilderspool atmosphere". It's got cock all to do with the acoustics, if you want to make noise, you make noise...simple. The Fletcher End didn't have to "sing" The Great Escape (cringeworthy, at ANY sporting event), to intimadate the opposition, they just DID it. It's a bit sad really, but, atmosphere depends on opposition.

Worriers and Stains are exceptions

Leeds don't travel in any numbers now
Bradford has dwindled down to "one man and his dog"
The Wids didn't bring many (only to be expected) last night
Wakey and Cas are poor reflections of what their travelling support used to be.
Add this to Cats, London (and Crus, recently going down a division) not bringing many, the atmosphere was always going to struggkle

I thought it was a decent atmosphere against Widnes, good bit of banter between the Widnes fans and us. I didn't quite get them singing "It's always your year" considering they have won nothing of note for 20 years and are currently pap. We need to respond to that chant with "There's always next year, always next yeeeear, just like the last one, there's always next year". It shows we have the ability to laugh at ourselves a little and nulifies there chant.

But if you go down to the front of the South stand, especially around the 20meter line at both end its full of either "families" or "parent &child"

And like some people have said before...least they having a go.

Must have been quiet at Cheshire police HQ, they had a dog walking service going on, must not be local though, no staffies only German Shepherds, probably the Knutsford residents dogs kindly being walked by our finest.

I'm not going anymore unless every fan is singing oh warry warry from now on. Stuff how the team are playing, I want everyone with a drum so we can create a proper support. We could call ourselves the "Brigantes" or something...

It was 2000 that comeback game I have it on VHS that I can't play now, I've been meaning to buy it again on DVD. The look on the Paul's faces is priceless.

The Bradford game from 2001 sticks in my mind as well with Paul Darbyshire as caretaker coach, just over 4,000 in the ground and Rob Smyth goes in for the match winner. Stevo said "Look at the Warrington fans going bananas" an atmosphere with just over 4,000 unbelievable.

47 - 38 against Wigan from 2001 was also brilliant, Sky thought we'd get hammered so decided to choose another game.
