yes people can point at roby's meters and tackles..... and people can point at tomkins trys and tackle busts... But what stats dont show is key plays at key times...... and Monaghan has tore SL to pieces this season when it matters... he puts teams on the backfoot and scares the life out of them.
Also the way wire play means we will never have a player with stats like Roby.... we don't rely on someone so heavily... Monaghan outshone Roby in both games against saints... and Tomkins in both league games against wigan.
Monaghan has been the most influential player in SL this season without a doubt.'"
Monaghan I would say has been consistently good over the course of the season and as you say has always performed well in big games. Tomkins on the other hand not so much, but I would say a handful of games we have seen Tomkins play this season he has been scarily good and has by far looked the best player in SL.

| Taking away Tomkins' 5th places to make it 'fair', this is how it would've gone under our voting systemPos Player 1st's 2nd's 3rd's 4th's 5th's Points Total
1st Sam Tomkins 10 3 3 - - 71
2nd Michael Monaghan 7 5 3 - - 64[/code
Speaks volumes.

not really.....we won the league and beat you twice.
it just means we have better players than you, so we share the MOM awards out more.

So last week's game, where the top 2 in the league where vying for the LLS was not a big game?
Or that old boring cliche, whenever you sack a coach "I don't care what you do, just beat them Saints when we play um".. are they not a big game, either?
...just when you thought Wiganers couldn't get any thicker, another one pops up, and blows that theory out of the water'"
Rather than trade personal insults perhaps I could offer a little advice, as a follower of a club with a little more experience of play off football than yourselves.
If you don't win 3 games which I would class as "big games" over the next month, all those wins in what you would class as "big games" will mean zilch. Tough as that sounds, that's it; exactly the same position as Wigan were in this time last year.

You could also say that had we not won several big games over the past 8 months, then we would not be in the position we are now with the possibility of more big games.

Bloody hell Yed that must have taken some time to research and type out.
But you ably illustrate how good Mick Monas has been for us this year.

| Monas seems to get his MoM in the big games, steps up a lot that lad, remember 2009 at Wembley Lance Todd trophy winner.
How was Sam at Wembley? I think [size V[/size was his only memorable moment.

| Monaghan is a fantasic player I would have him at Wigan in a heartbeat but Sam Tomkins will get MOS, with Chase 2nd and Roby 3rd.
If there was a 4th place he would get that.

I remember the bookies getting it wrong one day.

Noticed you joined RFLFans in 03, you have not posted much in the 8 years.Since you have joined or is it a case of now Wigan are winning, you will start singing again.Along with all the other glory boys wearing the Norweb shirts from yester year.
If the MoS goes on who has had the most influlence on the teams performance, over the course of the season. Then M Monas should win it.Roby has taken the limelight from Saints beacuse they have no other player to step up to the mark.Tomkins makes a few mazy, couple of silly side steps runs across field. And people think that should win him Mos,dont be silly.
