| At this moment in time, it's got to be Monaghan over Roby. Although Roby's stats are immense this year, Monaghan has led his team to more victories by controlling the play; whereas Roby has been more of a workhorse because the rest of his team are gash.
I'd take either at Wigan though.

That'd be mine, 2 of those 3 backrowers in I'd imagine. Also not sure on Dureau, he's oozed class and all but I still think Brough might get a shout.

I know there's a danger that this may be a slightly biased viewpoint but for me, Myler has had a much for consistant season than Brough who is either sensational or turd.
Whilst he might not be 'dreamteam' material I guess this year, at his current rate of development he will be before long.

| i'd have monaghan over roby every time. stains fans just seem to think a scooter hooker is the be all and end all. his metres gained/tackles made is irrelevant, you shut roby down and you shut st helens down quite easily. give me a quality passer like monaghan who can direct traffic any day of the week

| Just had a look at the stats for Saints and Warrington.
Roby has made 5000m exactly and saints have made 37970 which equates to 13% of the teams total metres.
Monaghan has made 2421 out of the 37262 which Warrington have made. This is 6%, having played for game less.
Having a match day squad of 17, you would expect very very roughly that 100/17 = 5.88% metres each player.
Ok some positions lend themselves to making more metres. To me these stats say that Roby is doing 2 peoples jobs as the rest of the team are not doing theres. There is an over reliance on Roby at St Helens where as Warrington work is shared amongst a team.....

| Add in James Graham who made 3771 which is 9.93% of Saints total metres. nearly a quater of all Saints metres are made by two players!
Warrington highest metre maker is Paul Wood who has made 7% of our total metres. Which is about right when you consider 5.88% average for each player.
The work is definitely shared at Warrington.
