23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

This is all about a week sat we all know it and both sets of fans are really going to find out were we stand we have you lot slamming points on teams but the last couple of games cracks are starting to appear, Then us who have been grinding wins out but turned it on against saints and hudd is it all tactics?
We both have an easy week this week so no excuses about hard games whatever happens it's going to be close and imo the best game of the season'"
What cracks?
Winning without two of our best players and leaders on the field? bad cracks them.

im not disputing that its going to be a close game but you said
a) our pack doesnt play the ball quickly... you are very wrong on this one.... we have scored 790 points so far this season... do you honestly think we have done that on the back of slow play the balls?
b) Tony Smith has come out and said that he only works with the players on defence..... he lets the players work out the attacking plays for themselves..... you said this is not the case..... You are wrong.
so which one of those 2 points will be down to me wearing my wire specs?

He's out of form though along with Hock so its a risk.
Clearly one the Warriors feel they need to take and one which could paid off.

| I'd just lock it.
It's a fantastic signing to strengthen what was already the fastest, strongest, toughest & bounciest (? - according to one of these on here) packs in the league.
If we had a sniff, that's now gone.

| A few 'professional' commentators have said about our attacking setup that it looks messy, that there looks to be no shape to it and that it is also very very effective because the opposition don't know where the ball is going because we give ourselves SO MANY options.
Clever players don't need to be shown how to attack.

I would hope that Cross has been brought in to enable 1 or 2 props to get a bit of rest before the game against you (especially after the pretty hectic couple of weeks we've had). Lima, Prescott and Coley have all been playing with injuries but can get a bit of rest so hopefully we can get them fit enough to make a good game of it.
If all goes to plan I imagine Cross wouldn't get in the side for that game.

Forwards set the backs up your forwards are all impact the likes of Carvell and Morley are not going to be bouncing up like Mossop and Prescott are they? Yes the will make more meters but with them having more weight on it's impossible to do so and that brings the whole debate about which you would sooner have smaller forwards for speed or bigger for power and more go forward
A good 80-90% of your points come from backs same with every team
The Smith point he may well have come out and said that i just dont believe it at all but if he's said it i'm wrong i dont mind admitting it

| Ateotd it's another option and another body, even if he's gash, having a gash prop is better than having no prop if the others are injured.

Precisely.
Maguire's hardly going to feel compelled to play him every week if he doesn't perform.

If your props win enough collisions, the speed at the PTB is irrelevant, as they've taken the markers out of the game and Monas et al will be on the front foot. That's what Solomona for example is good at, he wins the floor, and he mind not be lightning to his feet, there tends to be one/two bodies scurrying to get back around to the front, often not making it and Monas is off.

| Question for the Pies.
If Hock and Cross don't get in the Cup team with the injuries what do you expect the pack to be along with those on the bench?
