They ain't free though, are they??.....Taxpayers having to stump up for fattys isn't funny, neither is stumping up for others who abuse themselves.

Depends whether you beleive in the principle of a National Health Service and how you define 'others who abuse themselves'.
Does that include people with cardio-vascular disease, stroke sufferers, those with cancer, bulimics, anorexics, alcoholics and those with a substance abuse problem?

No, I have no problem with any folk receiving NHS treatment for any ailment, it just hacks me off when I hear people laughing about getting free treatment for their self induced illnesses, as though its a deserved perk......Ironically, these same people then whinge when getting 'picked on' by general society in the form of name calling or simple p!s$ taking.....Surely being called a fat ba**ard is a small price for their little perks?.... icon_cool.gif

i wonder what the root cause of the self-abuse is though? if somebody grows up in awful circumstances, poverty, abuse etc. and falls into heroin addiction are you going to begrudge the funding for the first person who has ever cared for him in his life and who might be his only chance to cure his addiction, get him back into society and get him a job?

Didnt think much of it to be honest,I generally dont find sketches funny.

Both his DVD's are hilarious, and his book is a good read.

Diabetes isn't just something "fattys" get I wouldn't call Olympic rower Steve Redgrave a "fatty"

is this a troll??

i'll bite. Steve Redgrave, i believe, has type 1 diabtes. Which is an inherited disease. Which is why it is so shocking for a 'fatty'' to get type 2 diabetes.

anyway, if we fatties are not entitled to the same health care provisions as you skinnies, where do you draw the line? dangerous sports, smokers, drinkers? i personally believe that bigoted idiots like jd cocket and the angry pirate/idiot should be banned from future healthcare provision, but hey although i work for the NHS i don't make the rules up! shame really!

now on a less opinionated vein, i believe everyone should be entitled to free healthcare, regardless of the fact it may be "self inflicted" if you start to pick and choose your walking a close line to racism & eugenics, killing off the less able, weak and mentally ill is the next phase. JDR Angry P et al appear to be mini facists in the making if you follow their views to the end.

Slim, I don't think 'fattys' should be denied health care, but surely you'd agree the need to educate people the perils of becoming obese and what health implications may ensue, in the same way that we give people warnings on drug and drink abuse?

hahaha you are a moron!

i was just stating a fact. There has been a lot worse said on here.

I can tell you're a fatty, you couldn't be bothered to look above the one post on the bottom. (That statement is bigoted)

People on here have a problem with fat people. At no point did I say I had a problem with them. And you will never know if I do.

I will tell you where i draw the line, personally, on health care provisions.

I think everyone is entitled to medicine free at the point of use.

If someone drinks too much or smokes too much or EATS too much they should be more of a priority to reform while less of a priority to heal.

BTW JD cocket, very clever. I feel very offended. Nice to know you can't actually attack my character. Wish the same could be said of your character.

educate yes, but that's not what you were saying earlier, not sure if it was you but the words "self inflicted" were used, so lets get thing right, falling off a cliff whilst hill walking is self inflicted, sporting injuries, self inflicted, should they be denied healthcare?
i am aware that my weight may become a health issue for me in future life, but patronising me and calling me a "fatty" might just get a negative response from me now and then, now you being so god damn perfect won't have that problem will you? i'm sure your flawless and will never utilise public health care at any time in your lifetime. so yes your right to moan about us freeloaders! eff off will yah, i pay my taxes just the same as you do and i'm happy to pay for the care of drug addicts and socially deprived people whatever body mass index they have or risks they take!
