| I for one stayed behind and clapped the players off. Right untill the final player went down the tunnel. There efforts this season have been superb and the fans who were booing don't deserve to be fans. Lord Smith has worked wonders with us this year. Regaining the CC and 10th to 2nd in the league is fantastic. Yes we've had our blips but don't all great teams? Wigan lost to Quins at home, and have lost 4 of the last 7 at home. Saints lost to Calalans, lost to Leeds twice, Hull FC twice just to name a few. Wire lost to hudds last night, Wigan, Saints twice, HKR, Leeds twice.
The booing fans probably have been to a couple of games all year, They haven't seen us at our peak. Glory hunters is what i Describe them as. Jumping on the Wire bandwagon.

| I'm getting a bit bored of this holier than thou attitude from some of our fans. I didn't boo last night, but i'm not going to have a go about those that did. It's their choice to do so, based on what they had seen up to that point. There were blokes around me booing last night that i had seen during the Wilderspool days -are they not 'proper' fans? They weren't happy with what they've seen and chose to voice their opinion - these same people also cheered the team on when they came out for the second half and got behind them.
These fans aren't a disgrace, nor are they glory hunters - they chose to show their passion in a different way, as is their right.

| Quote: 74' "I've said naff all about the fans. Wigans reputation is worse off than last week. Correct?'"
Who do you mean by Wigan?
The Club, the players, All of the fans or Just 1/2 dozen or so individuals?
If you mean the individuals I'll agree, the rest you couldn't be wider off the Mark!
Is your reputation as an individual worse off because someone from Warrington jumped a woman outside a pub and punched her?
I was disgusted as I bet were 99% of Wigan fans by the comments made by a few people on Wigan's Board, They don't speak for everyone, they speak for themselves as individuals.
I was also disgusted by some of the responses of other teams fans, not because of their response, but because most of them were aimed at "All Wigan fans".
We were all labelled "Ignorant/scum etc", and to be honest some of the stuff on the Leeds board was way out of order. Unfortunately if 1 Wigan fans says something about McGuire, or 1 Wigan fan says something about all Wolfs fans being Scum it doesn't mean that people should then label ALL WIGAN FANS the same?
Obviously the same goes in reverse as certain posters from this site do nothing but stir up trouble on our Board etc, that doesn't mean I think all Wire fans are the same.
HOWEVER
The next time Wire/Wigan play each other and there's trouble, I'd hazard a guess that a contributing factor to it will be the comments made on these boards stoked up by individual Keyboard Warriors who more than likely Won't be at the game when the trouble starts!
I'll be at the game with my family, I'll be drinking with my fans and opposing fans before and after every game as normal, trying to have a good chat about all things RL albeit with a Slightly Biased pair of C&W glasses on.
I find that way, when you talk face to face with other teams fans, you get a different perspective of the RL community than you do lately on these RL Fans boards (I'm with Yed on this).
Well done on a Great season, Bit of burnout seemed to catch you late on the year, I think you'll be a far more difficult prospect to handle next year with Hodgson at FB instead of Mathers "If" the another year older syndrome doesn't become a factor for some of your major players.

| Warrington fans are passionate and show their emotions. I have sat at neutral matches and from my experience would class HKR and Salford the same. The less passionate ones are Bradford, Wigan, St Helens, who go very quiet when they are getting beat or even going to Wembley (Bulls), leave early despite being 6 points behind with 10 mins to go.
The upside of this passion is the praise as we had at Wembley, Wigan away, the semi etc. The downside is that when we play badly, we let the team know how we feel. Sometimes they go too far as with Rodwell.
At the end of the first half, our fans, not me, let the team know how they felt about their performance. 15 minutes later when they emerged from the tunnel. the same fans raised the roof to spur them on, despite the score being the same.
There were plenty still there at the end to cheer the season as a whole, chant Mathers name. Which is more that can be said for Huddersfield in the cup or Wigan in July when we beat them.
Hope Huddersfield play like the first half against Saints next week.

Good post especially that first sentence. My comment made last night may have been in the heat of the moment, but it's how I felt at the time and I felt strongly about it. I'm very passionate and show my emotions, maybe not at the game much but I do sometimes on here.
The people who booed at half time, and went early and didn't stay to clap the team, well, that's up to them if they want to do that. I don't agree with it, but I'm not going to have a go at people for doing it. Me personally, I didn't boo at half time, nor did I leave early. I stayed and clapped the guys off, wished all the departing players the best of luck and that was that.
There was only ONE thing that I really took exception to last night, and I made my feelings known about it on here. Yes, it may have been a bit harsh, but that's how I felt at the time. We don't deserve fans who cheer when players get subbed; it's shows a serious lack of class and good grace not to mention an extreme amount of ignorance.

Was it the last game of the season?
Thought not.
