They must all be feeling the pinch after buying their season tickets for the Latics. Football is the number 1 sport in Wigan.

Quote: Wire On The Telly "No it wasn't.

If it wasnt reserves seating i could have easily brought 4/5 more people, wolfette the same. That's two people, imagine the possibility if each person brought one more person with them who isn't a regular attendee . We would sell plenty. No chance of walk in tickets, especially from neutrals or those who cant get to the club shops.

That said, the fact Wigan are selling so little is very surprising. However the sport is in no fit state to be turning people and money away. Perhaps also the fact that the semi final and final are so close people are waiting to spend their money on a big lump sum of tickets, accommodation, foam gloves and the most important thing, lots of alcohol.'"

Aren't they old enough to sit on there own in another part of the stadium, not as if you're going to be able to explain much about the game is it?

Quote: behind the stick "There'd 10k tickets to the finalists, so thats just about enough for 2 per season ticket holder.

No, saints limited tickets for their semi, hudds didn't. The Halliwell Jones is a smaller venue by about 500 places and it hasn't sold out yet for the semi.
Cup Final tickets shouldn't go on general sale from the start at all, that's a terrible idea, season ticket holders get 3 days to purchase as priority, as they have for a long time.'"
Saints limited their tickets to 4 per ST holder and they haven't sold out yet. That suggests that we could have done similar.

Why shouldn't Wembley tickets go on sale to the general public? There are thousands and thousands of empty seats. Let's get them sold instead of messing around with allocations. Priority bookings are well and good when it is likely to sell out, but the truth is the games very rarely sell out.

No it doesn't, it suggests that saints fans aren't interested in going to the semi against Huddersfield. Equally Huddersfield not limiting their fans means that they don't think they will take many, and as they haven't sold anything close to their allocation either they were correct in doing that.

Because that's not how it works, the same for any big game, be it grand final, magic weekend or cup final. The first question asked is "Where are all the warrington fans sitting" and to create an atmosphere fans of the finalists should sit in the same area.

As for allocations, sales have to be planned for, blocks are allocated to winning finalists or have all Warrington and Wigan fans already purchased their seats and don't need any? Imagine the outcry if Warrington fans were split up and dotted around the stadium.

Quote: Dave T "Priority bookings are well and good when it is likely to sell out, but the truth is the games very rarely sell out.'"

Priority bookings are there to reward the season ticket holder and boost season ticket sales for the club by guaranteeing a seat at a final from the clubs allocation of tickets. Finalists get 10k tickets with a possibility of another few thousand if they sell them, that's about 2 per season ticket holder (slightly less in fact). We haven't been to a final for nearly 20 years, demand is likely to be quite high and if you believe people on here friends and family, past season ticket holders etc will all want to go.

Imagine the uproar though if you had said ST can get 4 tickets when all your fans were already panicking they wouldn't get a ticket? The club were in a no win situation really.

I agree the club was in a no win situation that was due to the fact that they chose Widnes as a semi final venue.

I still feel it was the wrong choice, would have rather gone to (say) the galpharm and it be 75% full but season ticket holders able to buy 2 0r 3 tickets for themselves, family and friends and all be together. me and my partner are together at Widnes but due to the lack of tickets her son is now the otherside of the stand in the Wigan allocation, although he is 19 and not really bothered where he is it would have been nice for us all to be together.

I am still of the opinion the RFL was very short sighted and unfair.

Would as many have travelled to Galpharm? I very much doubt it to be honest. Tickets are still available for anyone who really wants to go so yes it may be a bit inconvenient that people can't sit together but if they want to go they will anyway (like your partners son is)

The fact it hasn't sold out yet very much says to me it wasn't as bad an idea as people first thought tbh, just like the way people moaned about the use of Keepmoat last season and it turned out to be ideal.

Getting the Galpharm 75% full would mean over 18k people turning up, the game doesn't warrant a venue of that size unfortunately.

I think they got it spot on.

All I can say is lets make the lads proud and be a 14th / 18th man an sing our hearts out for the lads. We know we want the final more than the land of pie and we can do it if we get behind them. Sing loud and proud. Wire for Wembly.

I know that, but it doesn't hide the fact that Wembley just doesn't sell out. Very close mind, but not fully. That suggests that the initial batch doesn;t need to be quite so stingy...

Yep, I wouldn't necessarily have gone with 4 at Wire, but they could have done 2. In reality, the people who got theirs on general sale, would simply have got a ST holder to get their ticket, and fans would have had more chanc of being able to sit together with people they go to the match with every week of the year.
