Still, he's our property now so happy to take the reflected glory and look forward to more to come in the P&B.'"

| Notice Clark is giving interviews saying he wants to play in the NRL and he hasn't even turned up at Warrington yet. Wow.

If Clark does more than two seasons with us then I will be truly shocked - I must admit to being slightly worried by the whole thing, it smells of the David Myers move all those years ago, when he turned up at Wire basically against his will.
What's concerning is that I've yet to see or hear an interview where he displays the remotest enthusiasm to come to us. Its all been how he will miss Cas... It isn't rocket science to see that the decision for him to leave there was made by the Castleford board and had zero to do with Clark wanting to come to Wire - We just happened to be the club with the readies to dig the Cas board out of a big hole and I honestly believe that it didn't matter to Clark which club he ended up at, he has simply been used as a sellable asset by his present employers.
Of course, he might fall in love with Warrington and end up as a club legend, a la Lee Briers, but personally I see a couple of years from him and then the NRL being his next destination - With the present trend of promising young British players going down under, its an obvious move, especially for a player in his early 20's, who already has a Man of Steel award in his back pocket.

[quote="Rogues Gallery":xjc47q2r]Wire - the enigma. They could finish top or eighth, who knows.[/quote:xjc47q2r]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7749.jpg |

| At the minute, he's not good enough for the NRL. So he can say what he likes to the media.
It was a loaded question no doubt and received the answer expected.

| Am slightly suspicious that he hasn't mentioned Wire at all in interviews almost as if it's a dirty word.
"Looking forward to furthering my England career, want to test myself in NRl, getting ready for the next chapter, hoping to kick on next season, not a single mention of us.
I do suspect like others this is a move almost forced on him and he'd rather stay at Cas until the Aussies come knocking.
4 year deal? We'll get 3 if we're lucky.

| Agreed Yed,
We should make it that the first person to post a link where Clarke mentions Warrington in a interview gets a chufty badge and perhaps a 10 point start for the 2015 tipster campaign?

Yes - pretty disappointed that he hasn't mentioned us AT ALL - and more disappointed that he's already talking about what he wants to do next, before we've had a mention.
Don't get me wrong, glad we have him - but still not a great attitude.

| I'm usually quite astute, I knew King was leaving before most because I was picking things up in the way he worded stuff and acted in interviews, he was never going to re-sign.
So we need to be in the market for another hooker probably start planning end of 2015.

Sorry, but this is absolute rubbish. Because there's no mention of Warrington in the answer to a loaded question doesn't mean he's been virtually forced to come here. You're making out a conspiracy theory out of nothing. The best thing he could possibly have done is sign for us, seeing as the heart of the Cas team from this year has been ripped out of it.

From a BBC article at the end of August"Warrington are a massive club and have been involved in finals and massive games over the last few years," Clark told the Wolves' website. "As a player that's what you want to do within the game; win trophies, play in big games and finish high in the league every year and that's what Warrington have achieved.
"It feels like the right move for me to step forward." [/i

| Lets be honest, he isnt a warrington lad... we know he isnt going to stay here for the rest of his career... Like most, he quite rightly wants to go to the NRL at some point.
I don't really see what the issue is.

| We tried to sign John Bateman several times and on each occasion he turned us down because he wanted to play for his home town club. I get the impression that Clark is in a similar position at the moment. And you can probably add to that a bit of resentment that he was sold with probably little consultation as Cas were in a miserable financial state at the time. But it is a professional sport, and as he gets older, takes on more responsibility, starts to think about where the dosh is going to come from when he is 35, I think sentiment will disappear out of the window. And of course he is playing a team sport - both he and the rest of the team can only succeed if they all work together and 'bond'. By this time next year he ought to have plenty of mates at Wire that he is loathe to let down.
Leave it a year and then see what he is saying.
